I know that. I pointed just that Finland´s only gold was at the non-NHL tournament in 22. That´s all, It is obvious that for europeans the better is the non-NHL olympics, we also had better games when NHLers were not allowed like in Lillehammer or Beijing with only rare successes in NHL tournaments like in Vancouver or Czechs in Nagano. Yeah, well, not really. They did not play last 3 worlds and yet still earn points gratis for Bronze medal place because of their standing on the IIHF ranking. Hokejisti opäť zvládli kvalifikáciu a predstavia sa v Miláne 2026 Slovenskí hokejoví reprezentanti sa po štyroch rokoch opäť predstavia na ZOH. Rovnako ako pred tromi rokmi si na finálovom turnaji olympijskej kvalifikácie vybojovali účasť bez straty bodu. V Bratislave zdolali postupne Rakúsko 2:1, Maďarsko 7:3 a postup spečatili po triumfe nad Kazachstanom 3:1. Slováci s deviatimi bodmi vyhrali skupinu a postúpili na ZOH 2026 do Milána. Tento úspech zrejme motivuje aj trénera Craiga Ramsayho, ktorý má zmluvu do konca budúcej sezóny, no ako povedal, na veľkolepom turnaji v roku 2026 v Miláne chce byť pri tom. Kanadský tréner priviedol Slovákov k bronzu na ZOH v Pekingu pred dvoma rokmi. V Číne neštartovali hráči z NHL, no pod piatimi kruhmi v Taliansku budú aj hráči z profiligy. „Uvidíme, ako to bude. Verím, že fyzicky zvládneme ďalších pár rokov, aby sme mali dobrý tím a mali šancu hrať o medailu. Som naozaj hrdý na to, ako dokážeme pozdvihnúť našu hru, keď musíme. A ja by som bol rád, keby som bol toho súčasťou,“ uviedol Ramsay. Som rád, že sme to zvládli, boli to naozaj ťažké zápasy,“ povedal útočník Martin Pospíšil. Na ZOH 2026 sa už teraz teší aj Tomáš Tatar. Na kvalifikačnom turnaji viedol slovenský tím v pozícii kapitána. „Najťažší zápas pre mňa bol ten proti Rakúsku, lebo som do neho skočil bez prípravy. Kazachstan bol nepríjemný, ale dali sme prvý gól a to bolo veľmi dôležité. Nechceli sme ich púšťať do brejkov, chalani robili perfektnú robotu pred bránkou. Samo Hlavaj nás podržal a som šťastný, že sme turnaj odmakali a postúpili na olympiádu. Thanks god the streak can continue. We never missed the hockey Olympic tournament since the independence in 1993. from Lillehammer 1994 to Beijing 2022 and now we continue with 9th consecutive appareance in Milano/Cortina 2026. In other hand we should not have to play this humiliating qualifiers first, but this is another stuff. We still owe this one to Switzerland and we will pay it back one of those days. Nobody can take the paralympics seriously now. the new re-division of categories is completely disgusting and unfair. This is the reason I do not have interest for this edition, if our TV did not cover this final I wouldn´t have seen a minute of it until now at all
