  1. It's not, which is why these times are at least somewhat surprising.
  2. I'm also pretty surprised by two relatively unknown Kazakhs going under 6:20
  3. You see one dude just trying to run away (but to where? Since he's rather high up) and another guy sitting in his cage just hanging there...
  4. If IBSF is added, can we open a thread to talk about national races and so on for two posts a year?
  5. No I have not, I didn't mean to say they're not doing good Only to exercise caution in basing too much off of the UCI rankings.
  6. I mean, which events/competitions are they dominating? Anything worldwide, or mostly just local or something? UCI rankings don't always mean a whole lot.
  7. Run times of 27 seconds in the doubles in the Youth A World Cup https://www.fil-luge.org/en/multimedia/6th-youth-a-world-cup
  8. Why are we talking about skeleton in the bobsleigh thread again btw?
  9. Just give him 1-year contracts and he'll always be good, but they don't seem to get that certain cyclists only perform when their ass is on the line
  10. Exactly. He's a semi-competitive slider for the ICC tour, filled with way less experienced sliders (among others from other exotic nations), but that's about it. Which is perfectly fine, but on the higher level he's just ages behind. I honestly would have no problem at all seeing him at the Olympics, but saying he'd be competitive there is just a step too far.
  11. 6th place for Tomasz Marczynski in one of the early season Spanish races....this guy is weird, almost literally all of his good results have come in a 'contract year' (last year of contract so needing good results for a new contract) https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider.php?id=tomasz-marczynski&p=results&xseason=&sort=date&race=&km1=&km2=&limit=100&page=0&topx=10&type_1=1&type_2=1&type_8=1&continent=&pnts=&level=&rnk=&exclude_tt=0&filter=Filter&morefilters=1
  12. You can bet your ass someone would either kick it away or let their dog piss on it here Unless I put a bottle or something in the garden and run past the house to pick it up, but it's rather demotivating to pass home and knowing you've still got a good while to go.
  13. I think I ran with a bottle only once, when it was really way too hot during the summer. For example Wednesday I ran 1:32 hours (15km) and at no point did I even think about wanting something to drink (I even came home, relaxed a little, had a shower, turned on the washing machine and only then picked something to drink ). I didn't do it this time, but I do sometimes bring a few of those 'gels' with me as a sort of basic nutrition.
  14. That was a fantastic last lap Worst was so close to the world title
  15. That's it for Brand, her saddle broke.
  16. Five minutes done, is the rest of the world even trying?
  17. The elite women start in a few minutes. Triple reigning champion Sanne Cant of Belgium just said there's only one woman made for this track and that's Lucinda Brand. It'll most likely be between her, Cant and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado. Personally I'm hoping for Annemarie Worst of my little home town
  18. Two out of two, Ryan Kamp dominates the race Kevin Kuhn fought his heart out in front of his own fans and got a good silver medal, Mees Hendrikx got bronze for the Netherlands and also managed to stay within a minute.
  19. Yes, we need to have that in the thread or else we might think this is the Tennis FEI Australian Open and we expect people to jump over the nets on horses with a tennis racket in their hands. Ah, the strictly forced rules of Totallympics thread names, gotta love it.
  20. Refresh my mind please, what was Sharapova always accused of?
  21. Men's U23 race is underway now.
  22. As expected, Shirin van Anrooij won the first ever junior women's world title by some margin. Second place for Puck Pieterse at 53 seconds, over 20 seconds ahead of American Maddie Munro.
  23. Women's tennis is so random
