The baton may well fall down. However, Klaver should have picked it up and not the third runner. Therefore the justified disqualification.

What are the substitution rules in the 4x100m? In the mixed relay only one athlete was allowed to be substituted for the final. Jamaica wants to bring Fraser, Jackson and Thompson for the final. Can they still do that?
