It was a very nice experience, in a country I would have probably never visited for tourism. I have met some very welcoming people, of course we have had a lot of limitations and could not leave the hotel alone. I have worked at the Women's Basketball tournaments, and in some other venues in the days Basketball did not play (two days in Athletics, one day in Table tennis). The Basketball stadium was brand new and not yet completely ready when I arrived in Kinshasa. The first match (ROU vs LBN) was in a completely empty stadium, and I feared that would have been the case for most of the matches during the tournament, but it was not like that. After the first day, there were more and more people in the Basketball stadium, and it was completely full in the latest days. The people on the stands were very noisy and the athmosphere was great, not only for matches. Fans inside and outside the stadium were always asking for selfies and pictures, I think I have had more photos in these two weeks than in the rest of my life I think they are not used to see white people, and probably some of them thought I was an athlete (we had a similar accredition pass around our neck). I also have some videos from the Basketball venues, I will try to upload them in the next days.

In this document, page 4, I read: But, do you have any idea if the team tournaments points are awarded to athletes or to teams only (but I can not find a Team Ranking anywhere). Thanks!

I must say the athmosphere is really good basically everything, I didn't think it would have been so good. But in some things the organization is quite bad and I agree probably some people stole a lot of those 67M$.

But not for all them the University Games are an approved event. If you think about it, it discriminates athletes who are not signed in any university, so it is understendable

Yeah, I guess it is an approved event to obtain entry standard, but I was talking about ranking points for Olympic rankings

Which are the sports that assign Olympic qualification ranking points? Taekwondo, Archery, Badminton...Anything else? Thank you!

I have been in the stadium before the Opening Ceremony. That was a very nice athmosphere, and something nice to experience for someone who has grown up in Europe. I have some pictures and videos, but internet is very bad and it is very difficult for me to upload them here unfortunately.

Competition dates are 3-5 August. Women's final qualifier will be held in Santo Domingo in August 25-27.
