Notable results (other than the times mentioned in this thread by others):
-
Unkown skater
Hanna Damaratskaya skated 37,65 in the women's 500m in
Kolomna, the 2nd time of the season so far.
-
Yevgeniy Koshkin finished in 34,56 in the men's 500m in
Inzell, the 3rd time of the season so far.
-
Sanne in 't Hof skated a 6.54,97 in the women's 5.000m in
Heerenveen, more than 10 seconds faster than the number 2 time of the season.
Difference between Lollobrigida (4th) and
Han (5th) after 4 distances: 0.01 seconds
Schouten who won 3 golden medals and 1 silver medal this weekend has decided to retire! She also won 3 golden medals at the 2022 Olympics.
Quite a surprise to be honest
Ghiotto destroys the competition and defends his world title in style!
wins the silver and bronze as Ted Jan Bloemen and Graeme Fish finish in 2nd and 3rd place.
Surprising gold medal for Joy Beune who had big doubts whether she should start here as the 1.500m that will be skated in about 3 hours from now is her favorite distance that she won in Quebec during the last World Cup weekend of the season.
Silver for the big favorite Irene Schouten and bronze for the legend
Martina Sáblíková
Joy Beune faster than Schouten
The women's 5.000m about to start with Horikawa and
Weidemann in pair 1. Both have good chances of finishing top 5 or even on the podium. It'll be interesting to see the time they can set.
First ever medal for I think with Wenger taking the bronze in the men’s mass start.
Swings wins yet another gold medal on the mass start after the gold at the 2022 Olympics and 2023 World Championships and a very surprising silver for
Gélinas-Beaulieu
Schouten wins her third gold medal of the tournament after falling early in the race.
Blondin came close and won a silver medal before
Groenewoud with a bronze medal.
Great mass start to watch with lots of action!
Stolz wins his 5th world title maintaining his 100% score at world single distance championships.
Another silver for today as Ning is the best of the rest and
wins bronze
Takagi wins her first individual world title, exactly two years after winning the Olympic gold on the women’s 1.000m in Beijing.
Surprising silver for Han, 0.01 seconds before
Leerdam
19-year-old Jordan Stolz wins his 4th individual world title in an amazing time of 33.69!
Dubreuil is the best of the rest and
Żurek wins a great bronze medal.
Femke Kok prolongs her 500m World title,
Kim Min-Sun takes silver after missing out on a medal last year and
Kimi Goetz keeps her country's honour intact with a bronze.

Nice podium again with a clear top 3, but a little sad Loubineaud finished 4th. Would’ve been a great medalist
Loubineaud 6:12.15
Gold for Schouten, silver for
Weidemann and bronze for
Sáblíková.
What a great first podium of this tournament with three amazing skaters!
ExpandNot a single gold for
in front of their home crowd?
@Dennis
They’ll probably win one or more golden medals, a lot of the events are very close this year. It’s just that Canada hasn’t won many world cups either this year. Canada definitely has good chances in the women’s mass start with both Blondin and Maltais, they have a solid women’s team pursuit team and Ted-Jan Bloemen is one of the favorites for the men’s 10k (especially on his favorite rink in Calgary). A lot can happen on the men’s 500m where one mistake from Stolz could create chances for Dubreuil as well.
This is just a fun prediction, but apart from Stolz and Takagi there aren’t any obvious winners on any of the distances, I think.
