ExpandBy my math is official. But the commentators and the Dutch team are acting like it’s not confirmed.
What would the world rankings look like if beats
3-0 and
loses to
0-3?
Wouldn’t Canada then still pass the Netherlands? The gap was small between both teams before this match and is much higher rated than
.
3 - 0

The tournament will be hosted by and
now according to the Polish PM.
Normally speaking, it will be between and
for one ticket to Tokyo.
of course the heavy favorite, but
beat
and
back-to-back at the 2018 World Championships. I don't have my hopes too high up, but I'm excited for that match tomorrow.

The top 3 in Group A is very clear to me (
), with
and
battling it out for the last spot in the Round of 16. That's really a toss-up for me, as I think they could all take that final spot.
-
Group B:
and
are of course the biggest favorites.
is a clear number 3 for me after their good performance this year in the Nations League. I don't think
stands any change, so
and
will battle it out for that fourth place.
-
Group C is obviously the weakest here, with
not performing as well as they back in 2016 and 2017, although they should still finish 2nd. I don't see any serious threat for
in that group, they seem to be the clear group winners to me, whereas
is the clear number 6 here in my opinion. That means
and
will battle for third and fourth place.
-
and
are the clear favorites in Group D, but perhaps
could surprise them here. They have shown good results against weaker teams, but I think they're ready to make the next step. Surprised to see that
even qualified for this tournament. They should be happy with any win. I put
over
for 4th place in this group because of home advantage and the slightly better results in the past year.

I actually think

in the same pool during women's volleyball nations league in week 3.
Expandand especially after first set, still incredible how they lost it........but bounced back in the end
Wasn't able to watch the match as I'm at work, but I gave up hope after I saw that they were trailing 0-2. The highlights of this match must be incredible. Can't wait to find a proper video tonight.
Came back from 0-2 in sets after losing the second set with 25-15.
ExpandWhat Brazil needs to qualify ?
3-0 victory against Japan, then they would tie in wins, in points and in set ratio with Japan, but Brazil's points ratio would be better than that of Japan.
Best result ever at a World Championship for
Our previous best result was a 7th place in 1998.
The top 6 might very well be exactly the same as the final 6 of the 2017 WGP:
Expand12 September 2019 - 8 September 2019
I think the dates in the opening post might be wrong.
The draw for the Final Six has been made:
Pool A =
Pool B =
I would be surprised if either and/or
makes it through to the semis.
Serbia!
3 - 1
Through to the semis! 4/4 of our teams in team sports through to the final 4!
The Netherlands still in the running for 2nd place in pool B, which is the pool with USA, China, Serbia and Italy.
Simple win by the Dutch women over the Italian team. Now it's almost sure that have qualified for the quarter finals.
Dutch women lost 3-2 against team USA, but winning these two sets will put extra pressure on Italy. The Netherlands now have 3 points, where 0 points were expected, so all in all a good start for the Dutch team.
Great win against China! The Dutch somehow managed to turn another 1-2 around, just like they did during the WGP.
Amazing bronze medal for the Dutch women after beating China and Russia, both in five sets. Russia even had 4 match points in the third set.
The Dutch girls have made incredible progress in the past two years. I'm curious to see what they can do in Rio.
What a weird second set, where suddenly managed to raise its level, but then it dropped again during the third.
Deserved victory for , but what a weird scoreline.

It would be a surprise, but don’t underestimate the Dutch when it comes to messing up an important game.
