  1. and Iranians themselves can't match the dirty style of Aghayev. this is like 10000th times he is beating Iranians. and again not really deserving. I guess they need Busa to take care of Aghayev first I could listen to the Iranian coach during the match and he was really pissed off by Aghayev's acting in last minute. and btw despite being #2 in Iran. Asiabari himself is a 2016 world medalist. and as you probably know the Iranian team was in Italy for few days training with the Italian team. I think it was a very bad day for Iran. we have a finalist in Majid Hassannia but he is not even in national program. and Asiabari (who is fighting for bronze) has no chance for Olympic qualification. on other hand our Olympic candidates Derafshipour and Askari lost very early ! Derafshipour got disqualified controversially vs a former world champion but Askari the current world champion lost to a random Dutch guy ! I thought he is safe for the Olympic qualification but it seems even for him this is still a long road. and our women's team was bad again. they really need to make a change here. something is wrong ! they are losing to average athletes. if they would award points for the countries and not the athletes. we should be fine qualifying in all 3 men's kumitee events comfortably because winning medals by different athletes don't help in term of Olympic ranking. and btw I watch so many sports. and it seems in no other countries coaches speak as much as the Iranians even in Judo (which is illegal for coaches to speak during the actions) our coach got rejected so many times for breaking the rule . it's just like addiction for Iranian coaches. and most of the time it's funny listening to them in live streams.
  2. no It's not like someone put gun on Qatari players and of course that's AFC's fault. as you know they had problems traveling to UAE. our team also had some problems (not as big as Qataris) because our last camp was in Qatar before the cup. but they had to travel back to Iran and then going back to UAE ! and I know the number of Qatari fans wasn't big but sometimes even having 10 men cheering for you can be heartwarming. from what I heard nobody can even carry Qatar's flag. except for their players of course. when Qatar scored against Korea I think I only heard some screams from Qatar bench. and as you probably know Qatari journalists had hard time getting visa. even some Qatari AFC officials had problems. I mean it's like they are completely alone there. just 23 players and coaching stuff. for example I can't say the same about the Iran team
  3. Australia had this coming but UAE also didn't deserve more. that was one huge mistake and UAE took advantage of it. their time wasting in last 10 minutes was disgusting though. they will make it hell for Qatar. it will be even more hostile for them but I think Qatar will be still the favorite. nothing is guaranteed in football but I really think Qatar or UAE won't be that hard for Iran. our real final is Japan.
  4. Qatar in semifinal winning 5 matches, beating KSA, Iraq and Korea. not conceding a single goal ! wow what a tournament for them. specially under hostile situation and not a single Qatari fan in the stadium because of the ban ! I think it's fair to say Qatar will be favorite against either Australia or UAE. Tottenham fans will be happy. they can have Son HM few days earlier
  5. That was easier than my expectation. 3-0 and missing so many chances. but Taremi's 2nd yellow card was a big blow. that was a stupid yellow card yeah he sometimes misses chances 1 meter away from empty goal (as he did again today) but he hustles and creates chances for others as well. we will miss him against Japan. and Japan in semifinal. we were waiting for this for a long time. that's probably our real final.
  6. I think VAR ruined the match first disallowing Japan's goal and later in second half awarding a soft penalty to Japan probably make up for that one in first half ! to me they should only use VAR for obvious mistakes. not for 50-50 calls. I really think in both actions refs had the correct call at first but then changed it to "mistake" after the VAR. btw another narrow win for Japan. actually that's scary. because they can win even when they play terrible ! now can't wait for IRN-CHN match , first let's hope for no VAR decision . and second I hope we win this and finally break the QF curse. we got eliminated 3 times in a row in this round.
  7. and the first VAR decision in history of Asian Cup is something controversial. I think that was no handball on Japan's goal. but they annulled the goal with VAR.
  8. looks like everybody automatically assume Qatar will win the Asian qualifier. they are the favorite but Bahrain was never easy for them. their last match in Jakarta went to extra time .
  9. looks like you are going to play in 7th place match even though Hungary needed that probably more than you (for the Olympic qualification) btw I really enjoy watching Norway team play. they really deserve a place in semifinal. I just hope Denmark and Sweden match doesn't end up like something we had in Euro 2004 just kidding Norway is also Scandinavian and Denmark playing at home. no way they lose intentionally but imagine Sweden leading by 3 in last minute ... both teams will settle for that. that's why last group matches should be at the same time.
  10. I heard that from the Iranian commentator during the match, but I just never trust them they talk lots of nonsense
  11. Qatar and Korea completed the quarterfinal teams. so Vietnam is the only surprise of Round of 16. even though Qatar-Iraq match was very close but I assume Qatar was slightly favorite before the match. Iraq had some chances and few minutes before Qatar's goal there should be a penalty (on Mohannad Ali) for Iraq. Iraq was unlucky today they had 3 injuries today specially Humam Tariq's injury was crucial. looks like they wasted too much energy trying to beat Iran and win the group. ironically the guy who scored that nice free kick for Qatar, Bassam Hisham is in fact from Iraq ! South Korea also just survived in extra time against Bahrain. the outcome could be different if it wasn't for Bahrain GK's injury. from what I see Qatar is even a better team than Korea but still Korea is the favorite. Quarterfinals: vs vs vs vs
  12. unbelievable. how the hell they missed that chance in 122nd minute ! UAE was really lucky with that controversial penalty. Kyrgyz players ran out of gas in extra time but they had one 100% chance at the end. UAE was terrible so far. not just this. but the whole tournament. I don't think they stand a chance against Australia but then Australia was far from convincing.
  13. Kyrgyzstannnnn no kidding they are indeed my 2nd favorite team in this competition. they could win the match 6-2 if they were a bit smarter. but still here we go. extra time.
  14. Uzbekistan is truly the biggest choker in the AFC, the match was poor and boring probably one or two serious chances in the whole match. and when it comes to the penalties I was sure Uzbekistan is going to choke again. UAE just scored against my favorite country Kyrgyzstan looks like we will have UAE-Australia in QF.
  15. everybody expected a great match between two of the favorites but Japan scored an early easy goal and then parked the bus for 70 minutes. they won the match with less than 25% ball possession ! KSA had few chances but they couldn't create dangerous chances. so far 4 wins for Japan. all of them with 1 goal. I wonder if that's all they have or they are just saving themselves for next rounds. I think Vietnam will be easy for them.
  16. I think I was right to be worried about this match, things could be entirely different if Oman could score that penalty in 2nd minute, that was a great save by Beiro. and what a smart goal for ARJ . he was under lots of pressure after his poor performance against Iraq. which was his first match after 2 months of injury. when Oman opened up Taremi and Azmoun together missed something like 4-5 golden chances in 2nd half. I really hope they take their chances in next matches. I think China will be easier than Oman but in this round you can't underestimate anybody.
  17. what a day for ASEAN football so far. Vietnam kicked out Jordan and now Thailand is leading China 1-0 in half time. Thailand is actually playing better and deserved the lead so far. let's see what Marcello Lippi has in his sleeves for the 2nd half Vietnam beating Jordan wasn't a "big" surprise IMO. Jordan plays good against better teams but they are not the type to dominate so-called "weaker" teams. and actually Vietnam was the better team in 120 minutes. but I think Vietnam will be easy prey for the winner of KSA/JPN match. Jordan would be harder because of their fighting style.
  18. KSA always plays good against teams in their level. and they always lose by big margin against better European teams. almost the same goes to Bahrain, very tricky and smart team. they can't match the physicality of European teams though but even Qatar never had it easy against Bahrain. Japan on other hand had some respectful results lost by only few goals to Spain and Iceland and played good against Croatia (except the first 5 minutes) and then they lost to two Asian teams Bahrain and Korea despite having the lead most of the match and will play Angola for the last place, I won't be surprised if they lose this one too. they are really improved comparing to last year Asian Champ and Asian Games few months ago (with almost the same squad) but still they can't beat Bahrain and Korea !
  19. interesting, I didn't know that until reading your post here. I see in wikipedia that 7 spots are allocated to Asia ! I wonder if there is any source for that. that just doesn't make sense, 7 is TOO MUCH for Asia. usually there is a huge gap between top 5-6 and the rest and even those top 5 are nobodies in World of handball. but at least that's good for our team. even though Handball is probably our biggest sport in term of choking ! when Asia had 3 spots. we always finished 4th and whenever AHF had 4 spots we finished 5th. we also finished 2nd in Olympic qualifier with 1 spot available I wonder if they are capable of finishing 8th if there are 7 quotas for Asia I have to correct this "no increase for European teams" is probably not accurate, because Europe has 3 fixed quotas like other continents. you see more European teams in the competition only because of the number of European teams finishing in top 9 in previous tournament. Asia had 4 here (later 5 with Japan's WC) only because Qatar made it to the top 8 in 2017.
  20. Looks like we should kiss goodbye our chance of winning the title here. our psycho coach Queiroz started another crisis yesterday this time attacking the sport minister ! calling him a traitor to the country apparently he just found out the minister advised the football federation to not renew his contract after the world cup (which they didn't listen and kept him for another 6 months for this competition) and since he is a crying baby he couldn't wait and had to react in worst possible way right in middle of the competition. as usual he attacked more people in his interview but I just made it short. I wonder in what country a foreign coach can bash the sport minister like this . and also what coach creates such crisis in middle of the competition. and in 7 days this is his 2nd time doing this. I usually supported him mostly because his critics were corrupt and stupid , he is a very good coach but this is really crossing all the lines. even if a journalist in some cheap newspaper writes something about him he has to react. he reacts about every single thing. he just can't shout his mouth for 3 weeks and finish the competition if we had someone like Spanish football federation they would fire him right now in middle of the competition (as they did to Lopetegui) but our federation president is such a weak person and instead he apologized everybody for what Queiroz said as usual our enemy is ourselves, I'm very worried about this Oman match. I won't be surprised if they send Iran home ...
  21. most of them moved to Qatar at young age, to me that's fine because most of them are product of Qatar Aspire academy. it's not like they just bought already established players like what they are doing in other sports. I think Qatar will do fine in 2022 World Cup. not advancing from the group stage but they won't be a punching bag. this guy Al-Moez Ali already scored 7 goals and almost secured the topscorer award for himself. and I have to admit he is really good. as we know he is Sudanese but raised in Qatar.
  22. Qatar really humiliated Saudi Arabia. 2-0, they missed a penalty and they scored one more goal which disallowed by the ref for no reason. but I was mostly watching Lebanon match, they needed one more goal to qualify. they got eliminated only because of have more yellow cards ! Lebanon missed so many great chances. they could win the match 10-1 !!! hats to Lebanon they really tried and even scored their 4th goal in 98th minute ! now we have the bracket vs vs vs vs vs vs vs vs
  23. Uzbekistan, always choking they can't even beat a Japan B team. I hardly doubt they can beat Australia with such weak mentality. and damn it, two late goals by Oman sent them to the next round. most probably against Iran. I really hope we don't underestimate this Oman team. PS: I don't see Lebanon beating PRK by 4 goals to eliminate Vietnam and replace Oman as our next round opponent. but who knows.
  24. well actually Cuper doesn't need a miracle to get a draw from Japan and win the group. Japanese coach benched his whole starting lineup and will play with its B team vs Uzbekistan looks like they simply don't care about the next round and are not afraid of Australia at all.
  25. just checked the UWW rules and as expected they didn't think about such situation here, page 17 https://unitedworldwrestling.org/sites/default/files/2018-12/wrestling_rules.pdf
