  1. I think Burgin's previous qualifying time might have been when the qualifying was suspended?
  2. Christian Taylor (USA) Triple jump legend Achilles tendon injury
  3. She's had a good career but she's over 30 and unlikely to improve. I do feel sorry for her at being the victim of bullying by Semenya fans who thought she said worse things about Caster than she did. What she actually said in 2016 was "“It is out of our control and we're pretty much relying on people at the top sorting it out,” . “The public can see how difficult it is… but all we can do is give it our best.” I can't see much controversial in that
  4. EJR are the best performance of an athlete before the year of their 20th birthday. Maybe the other 5 ran the times in the year they turned 20?
  5. Men's 3000 SC Phil Norman 8:20.12
  6. Although GBR seem to have moved to 6th in the nations ranking? Which would give them 2 places in Tokyo?
  7. Pidcock has already said that he is only going to start the MTB event in Tokyo. By the way does anybody know how many places the GB women have in MTB? 1 or 2?
  8. I think everybody else who made the qualifying time in the men's race were already in
  9. I was told this a few minutes ago. "No Slovakian riders finished above 63rd so the Romanian rider had to finish 24th or better to move above them in the nation rankings releasing a place to Britain via the U23 2019 World Cup results"
  10. I don't know if this correct though ???
  11. Men's 50km walk Podebrady, CZE Marc Tur 3:47,40 Aleksi Ojala 3:48.25 Andrea Agrusti 3:49,52
  12. Los Angeles, USA Women's 1500m Kate Snowden 4:02.98
  13. Men's 10000m Los Angeles, USA Zouhair Taibi 27:20.61 https://finishedresults.trackscoreboard.com/meets/10061/events/1/Final
  14. Don't expect anything from GB in the men's event. Denmark should win. Women's event will be decided by the form of Chloe Dygert. If she's recovered well from her crash last year she has the potential to lead her team to victory or destroy them by being too strong for her US teammates.
  15. Not convinced GB will be good enough to challenge for anything except bronze in the men's event. Dutch gold here.
  16. Men's 5000m David McNeill 13:12.82
  17. Interesting to remember that in 2017 92% of Japanese supported the Games. Might be the highest percentage ever.
  18. Women's 800m Adelle Tracey 1.59.50
  19. Alex Rose was reported tonight as having broken the world discus record by throwing 79m. Unfortunately the real distance was 59m
  20. There's an interesting theory I've been hearing from a few people. High ranking officials in the IWF are convinced they will lose their positions when the IWF is reorganized this year so they're using this as a way of gaining support. The theory goes that the Court of Arbitration for Sport will have to let all the lifters who would have qualified if the rules hadn't changed compete in Tokyo because the rule change was unfair. Which means small weightlifting nations will gain places and they'll be grateful enough to the people who changed the rules to vote for them in the next election. To be honest, I doubt this is true but it's still an interesting theory.
