  1. Yesterday results: VS 33-21, team continued their unbeaten record (35 game without losing in WCh since 2017) the game started for and score reached 10-3 after 15 min, better performance from team led to closing the gap to 15-12 by half time, the 2nd half had a margin favor for till minute 40 when the Danish team start scoring 8 consecutive goals without response, 12 minutes until Brazil scored again, during that blackout time GK Martins did really well but his team mates were not able to break the great wall of Nielsen. hard luck for and wish they continue such great performance in next tournaments. VS 31-30, the most improved and best performer so far (except for sure) had a great night yesterday. to get the summary of the game, were playing GK Wolff who made 21 saves in the game !! 21 !!! I believe at least 17-18 of them were one on one. on the other hand both GKs did well saving 12 shots (Marques saved 7 while Capdeville saved 5). the game started with leading till end of first hal 13-9 .. in second half ..ah ..sorry ..I will say Wolff not ...Wolff in 2nd half managed to close the gap and even lead by 2 goals, but Portela and Francisco Costa were able to finish the time draw 26-26. the extra time started with heading again thanks to :Francisco Costa and Martim Costa .. Knorr and Zerbe managed to draw for the team Wolff ... but 4 seconds before the end Martim Costa scored the golden goal to secure the first ever semifinal spot in a well deserved game with huge frustration from Wolff against his team mates. in 2019 U21 team finished 4th in WCh ( finished 3rd in the same tournament) in the same year U 19 team finished 4th too in Wch ( won that tournament) now in the semi final with amazing performance and mix of mostly young players and few experienced. Semi Final Games: 30th of Jan VS 31st of Jan VS
  2. But in general the team deserves appreciation carvalho did well and montes did some good saves the bad time was the black out minutes between 40 and 52 when the team was struggling to score good tournament and wish you all the best .. and …. Consistency 😉
  3. Epp Mae Women 76 kg Wrestler announced retirement. 1 silver and 3 bronze in world championships.
  4. This is a very good question, and the simple answer is ..YES ..they always like that and even the old GK legends (Elrouby, Elnakeeb, Ayman Salah..etc) they were below average worldwide (locally they were the greatest) … the main question is …why? I am an ex-handball GK in Egypt and later played also in England for Reading Lions handball club, so what I am going to say about Egyptian GKs are not speculations but that was our real life and still. Why I was a GK ..simply because I was left wing number 3 in the team, and by luck during some cooling break I was playing shot out with friend and saved all, then the coach decided to keep me in goal for this training session ..then forever. You are not good enough as a player, you are very slow, you are very fat, you are not talented those are the main reasons in why a person becomes handball GK. Since I was 8 till 23 yrs old when I stopped playing in for work reasons I (we) never ever had a specialised GK coach!! ..even the special training to improve our skills was usually ruined by players when the coach is focusing how they are not scoring more than focus on our movements and style. Handball GKs usually memorised the players, those players I am playing with them in the training or even the opponents I see them 4-5 times every season, I perfectly memorise their movements and shots, but that shouldn’t be your normal style, you should have plans for unknown players, how to block the angles, how to synchronise with the block to get one side and to let them block the other side, when you block the close angle and leave the wide one and vice versa. When I was in England (which is not a strong or even average team), all GKs went to GK workshop with whom?? Omeyer ..the legend French handball GK .. I was listening to some advices which I never heard about in my life. Where was that when I was young and able to improve, unfortunately nothing. Sorry for talking to much but I am really disappointed and I know will never win a major title or medal without a good GK ..imagine if Egypt in Olympics or last 3 Wch has Landin or De Vargas or Wolff …at least would be on the podium couple of times.
  5. in 2021 team was very promising I was expecting to perform better in 2023 but they did almost similar (even the game was at home) ... but this year was the biggest shocking surprise for me, don't know why they are so slow and very heavy on the field.
  6. thriller and excitement night for all handball fans except and QF results yesterday: VS 31-30, incredible game with both teams swap leading the results, both keepers were the reason of their team leading, some great saves from GK Bartucz make lead, then few brilliant sves from GK Kuzmanovic bring them back on to draw then the lead. But the most interesting part when it was 26-30 for with 5 minutes to go when coach decided to put the 35 yrs old experienced GK Pesic into the field, he managed to save all shots on him in the last 5 min. with very good attack from players and the cherry on the top when Sipic scored at 59:59 the winning goal and made the hall shaking and supporters going mad. very sorry for who did a great effort and ended the night by a nightmare. VS 34-33, do you think the previous game was the ultimate drama? ..no ..this was even more thriller, was leading the game from beginning and the score was 18-14 in the first half, early in 2nd half the score difference became 5 for but slowly slowly managed to close the gap (thanks to attacking tactic playing with 7 players and an empty goal), last couple of minutes were amazing for handball fans, it reached 32-30 for then managed to draw and then 33-32 for again, the Yaya scored when it was 59:57 (only 3 sec to final whistle) with very fast start from Karabatic they managed to score which has been rejected by team but the video ref proved the ball was in at 59:59.97 ..only 0.03 sec destroyed the Egyptian dream in unbelievable Hitchcock scenario. Lesson learned for (I hope it's learned), you can't compete with below average GK ..and fair selection of players is a key of success. today's matches: VS VS
  7. This buzzer final goal is very disappointing I have no idea why the keeper was jogging in the last second
  8. Typical.. wait for the sub .. even worst
  9. What a game VS 31-30 come back from 26-30 with 5 minutes remaining Pesic GK is not the man of the match .. he is the hero of the match great atm in the arena.. match will be saved in handball history
  10. The team needs more development before LA: - More players to go outside (look at Seesa, Sief or Dodo development and compare it with someone like Mohsen or Abd Elrahman Abdo) - new Keeper (Hindawy is below average) - Ahly and Zamalek need to let more players to go out and get more internal transfer to keep it flow - Ali / Elmasry / Sanad will be older, smart replacement is required - Mohab (the best sub so far for Yaya) to take more time on field (after returning from his injury) - Thanks Pastor, younger coach is required, Pastor is a great manager but still old school believer. I know Paraondo maybe difficult but similar generation would be great (I hope Danish school). Let's wish good luck for the team today I don't know why I am very optimistic (without valid reasons)
  11. Yesterday Results: Group III VS 46-28, a well deserved win for to continue their magical performance in this tournament, leading this group and qualifying to QF on top of the group to face VS 25-26, another historical win for , the game was very good and full of good action despite the fact that already qualified before the game, the game was up in air till the last second when left wing go for final shot but went wide. VS 29-24, the home team tried to end the tournament in good form after losing their chances to qualify (almost) since the preliminary group stage. the game was mainly for from start till the end and they managed to finish 3 rd in Group III after 3 wins in the main round. is very slow team and if the GK not in form they usually struggle in recent matches.. Group IV VS 30-21, tried to hold the last hope by beating waiting either or not to win in order to qualify, of course their loss against by 6 goals was a disaster for the nation who were heading the group till the previous game. VS 24-31, played another bad game ..actually very bad, started with the subs and score became 4 goal different to even when the main team was on field we see heading the game till almost the mid of second half when the experience played a main role to give the win. side note: bad players with a good keeper would be a good team ..great players with bad keeper it's a bad team ..imagine if there is no keeper!!!! VS 29-26, this game was a decider to whom will qualify as first and who will finish third between and (surprisingly 2nd was reserved for before the game), the game start with very good performance from who were heading by 4 goals till the end of first half when managed to draw, till the mid of 2nd half the draw was there but last quarter of the match was for who managed to qualify first in front of their home fans to face in the quarter final. QF matches: 28th of Jan VS VS 29th of Jan VS VS
  12. Looking at Team GB opportunities after adding Obstacles I would say it's very rarely to find Jo, Myles, Charles, Kerenza or Olivia compete in a very high level. I like Jo's personality, I met him once before COVID in Bath University and his enthusiasm for winning was very obvious (he made the Gold later in Tokyo). maybe we have a girl in U 19 who finished 4th in the last U19 WCh (Zoe Spokes). But no shining names in men event. on the other hand, my other Country are very focused (since 2021) to introduce obstacles to their team members, I am in doubt if El-Gendy can be the top athlete but we have 4-5 athletes in both men and women who can easily be on the podium in LA 2028 including El-Gendy junior.
  13. Today's Matches: Group III VS VS VS Group IV VS VS VS
  14. Yesterday Results: Group I VS 25-33, despite the results but both teams deserve great appreciation for their performance during the tournament with finished 3rd in the group I after giants & while finished fourth in one of the biggest surprises beating more experienced team either in the preliminary group or in the main group. the match itself was for from start to end. VS 22-28, another win for :DEN, while GK did very good game to keep the score as close as possible (both keepers made 15 saves most of them from Mrkva in the first half. VS 31-19, continuation of the disappointing performance from one of the worst tournaments for them which was easy game for to give more time to their subs to show off. Group II VS 37-37, before the game there were limited chances for and no chances for to qualify, but the game was full of enthusiasm and was on fire till the end. draw was fair looking at both teams performance. VS 23-29, start of the game was for and they increased the gap to 4 goals until coach changed the attacking tactics by adding additional pivot for almost the whole game, the old lads from were not able to cope with such tactic and almost scored all those attacks, in addition to quick start and fast breaks against team has most of its best players over 37 years old. VS 32-25, good start from and they were competing goal by goal till min 15 when started increasing the gap, with more experienced players in the French team was very difficult for to comeback. Standing: Group I 10 Qualified 8 Qualified 5 4 3 0 Group II 10 Qualified 7 Qualified 5 4 4 0
  15. Too early for you mate 😂😂 so, you changed your mind when you knew they are going to face 😉
  16. After discussing with some friends close to IHF the ref whistle passive play after did the 5th pass (the new rule the team should have max of 4 passes after the ref announces passive)
  17. Would be the biggest surprise if it happens
  18. You are absolutely right and I didn’t see great potential in your u21 or u19 teams you need to build up a new generation with good coaching school (I recommend spanish or french as it matches more your way of playing and body shape) Brazil and even Chile are doing well now and the gap will grow even bigger
  19. Today’s matches: Group I VS VS VS Group II VS VS VS
  20. Yesterday results: the day of thrill and surprises Group III VS 29-35, the surprise is not just the result or has been eliminated, actually the performance of was very great not only in this game but in the whole tournament, the great thing about they can score from all positions, back side, wings, pivot, penetration and fast breaks.. as a handball ex-player and fan I really like this team and wish they continue like that VS 24-27, another huge surprise for one of the trams ( ) if they believe themselves they can be at least in the top 8 every tournament (and first not to lose the pan American championship).. I saw only the highlights but a major observation that never get ahead in the game and the only draw was 1-1 !!.. I like the personality of when the gap reduced from 5 goals to 20-19 near the end but acted as a big team and increased the gap again. Another team I would love to see them usually in the top eight VS 22-39, easy game with no actual resistance GROUP IV VS 30-26, Secured their first win in the main round, but being honest the team was stronger in the last two championship can be an important figure in African handball and we may see them more frequently on the podium with silver or bronze (currently is dominating the continent by far) VS 26-25, first I want to show this number (11-20) this is the number of turnovers in the game!!! did 20!!! When I was playing u 15 and our team do 20 turnovers in a game the next day we would be punished with tough training and exercises (when we were 16 years old and above we never do 20 turnovers in a game!!) referees were a key factor in the game with 3 imaginary penalties for keeping them in the game when the gap start increasing (left back jump from 8 m hitting 2 defenders with 2 cases are obviously offensive foul and one normal foul for but refs intentionally gave penalties)… then at min 29:58 in 2nd half they balanced their decision by giving an offensive foul against in an action never ever being awarded as offensive foul. Anyway, secured qualification as 2nd to face with rare opportunity to be first VS 32-26, The home team finally found the pace and win by more than 5 goals to be in the safe side in the head to head between and if beat in the last game they will be heading the group standing: Group III 7 qualified 6 qualified 4 4 3 0 Group IV 6 6 qualified (yes the second guaranteed qualification but the first not 😂) 6 4 2 0
  21. Congratulations I will watch the game later but great results
  22. I want a praise 😉 @rafalgorka
  23. I was usually saying the inconsistency is the main problem of Now has similar problem .. you have a very good team but I often feel the individuals are better than the team performance, you can see beat a strong team but on the other hand you may see them lose with score or lose against weaker teams.. very difficult to predict my guess today would be for:SWE because they were doing well most of the games (except few crucial moments against Spain and Portugal) if your team can keep the score close you will have a good chance near the end to do something
  24. has some obvious attacking problems this tournament including one serious injury last game for their right back The history between the two teams shows very close games and draw several times (which is not a common result in our sport) my prediction would be very close games but will win prediction and hope too
  25. Many thanks imagine if beat we will guarantee qualification what would be our position, this is the interesting part: 1- if beat or draw will be second 2-if beat With 1 goal difference, will be second 3-if beat With 3 or 4 or goal difference, will be first 4-if beat With 6 or more goal difference, will be second 5-if beat With 2 or 5 or goal difference, will wait to see overall goal difference to know if we are first or second very interesting
