THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Why there are onyl 15 greens? China would also be in right?

thanks!!! was this published anywhere?

Curiously USA will only go with 11 tennis players. Not sure why not Caroline Dolehide in doubles.
ExpandSure, but maybe they should just say that they are prioritizing their ranking over the Olympics? (like every single Games)
Of course every player may choose what's best for them, but it would absolutely piss me off if some
player wouldn't play the Games because of something like this.
Thiago Wild did this in Tokyo, let's see if he will do it again (obviously he had a crap summer season on clay and got no ranking points lol).
In Tokyo it was more... understandable.
ExpandThank you for the excellent news.
Our NOC published single quotas today
https://noc-ukr.org/news/24944/
By the way, it can also mean that doubles for AINs were rejected. No official information on this by now.
I don't see any relation in that.
But yeah, let's wait and see.
Actually ITF confirmed the 2 pairs!
I believe they are the first "Extra players (not on the top10) for doubles" announced
ExpandITF confirmed
singles to our NOC
Kostiuk, Svitolina, Yastremska, Kalinina.
Pairs are to be confirmed: 1 or 2.
could you send me the link regarding pairs please
But this means the Kichenoks are on the waiting list or the pairs would be formed by single athletes?
ExpandThe BBC story says that Raducanu turned down the legacy spot which is strange and has two consequences that I can see: 1st, Osaka must be using her PR if Wozniacki is a legacy qualifier, 2nd: who else would take it then? So maybe another reallocated quota for the women's side.
Expandonly Halep can take that 2nd legacy spot i guess.
Actually Halep has no ranking so she can not get a legacy GS (one must be in the top400).
The ranking for the legacy would be:
1- Osaka (4GS)
2- Kerber (3GS)
3- Bencic (1OG, #92), theoretically, but she gave birth on April 23th...
4- Wozniacki (1GS, #117)
5- Raducanu (1GS, #209)
6- Andreescu (1GS, #228)
ExpandWhy Rublev? I thought that he is against war
Tonsils, but so far only this https://x.com/TheTennisLetter/status/1801975820040421583
ExpandI thought this was interesting:
Jose Morgado's tweet states that both Osaka and Nishikori will use protected ranking to play the Olympics.
So the GS winner/OG champion spot would open up for maybe Raducanu or Kerber? Not sure who else could be taken into consideration.
there are 2 Legacy quotas. Apparently it would go to Kerber and Osaka... next in line: Carol and Raducanu.
Carol just announced she's IN

ExpandI won't bet on Sinner's participation...should he reach the final stages in Wimbledon, he might well withdraw from the Olympic tournament
however, our best chance to me it's Vavassori/Bolelli in the men's doubles
He gave some declarations that he wants to go to the Olympics and win gold medal, I think he will def go, but maybe not so well-prepared. I bet his focus now is Wimbledon as well.
ExpandAlso I think the wildcards for gold medalists or Grand Slam winners are weird, in what other sport do you get a wildcard into the Olympics because you used to be good 5-10 years ago?

hahahaha i'm trying to think about it...
I guess they wanted to make sure all the stars are in.
ExpandSumit Nagal takes the last qualifying place in Men's Singles.
This article very clearly states that "For Olympic tennis, National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will have to confirm that they will use the quota places by June 19." so it is mere speculation.
Yuki Bhambri would be a better doubles pair for Bopanna, right?
ExpandOur federation announced for
![]()
W. Singles: Svitolina, Yastremska, Kostyuk + request to allow Kalinina or Tsurenko to compete (they have no enough games for national team due to high level of competitivenes).
W. Doubles: N. Kichenok + L. Kichenok. And some pair from singles.
Any links for that, please?
ExpandThe loss of Ruusuvuori in this week challengers pretty much close the olympics rankings as there is no more possible changes, except
Altmaier or Marterer win the Heilbronn Challenger and gets in the last spot. The Top 56 qualified players are:
* Based on Monday 10/06 World Ranking, some players can withdraw or not meet the elegibility criteria.
Jannik Sinner ; Lorenzo Musetti ; Matteo Arnaldi ; Luciano Darderi (Cobolli or Sonego instead of Darderi)

Players who are qualified and either withdraw or dont meet the elegibility criteria:
Grigor Dimitrov (Davis Cup criteria)
Ben Shelton (Withdraw)
Adrian Mannarino (Withdraw)
Do we have any official indication that Dimitrov is out (as in the case of Mertens)? thanks!!
ExpandIt depends on how close they are to the max athlete quota
I've done a calculation in which they could have 86 athletes, only having 2 or 3 doubles pairs outside the top10, but this would be very harsh
ExpandSome updates:
Griekspoor/Haase (78)
Erler/Miedler (78 - I'm not sure if singles or doubles rankings have priority so they might be above the Dutch?)
Draper/Norrie (79)
-------------------------------------------------
Tsitsipas/Tsitsipas (82)
Matos/Melo (83)
Gonzalez/Reyes Varela (93)
Fucsovics/Marozsan (97)
Meanwhile
now in danger of not having two teams, as Dodig fell out of the top 10 (ironically due to losing to the Tsitsipas brothers but it became official today now that Vavassori made SF and passed him). Cilic hasn't played since February so if he isn't back by then, the best second CRO team would be Coric/Dodig with a combined live ranking of 98...
We also have to check how strict they will be with the singles priority...
What if
Expandyes. He got the last spot, the host nation reallocation. Anyways, as he has the last place, if Nishikori or Cilic use their PR he will be the first or second reserve. Other good news is that he ended in the spot 78, and Kwon has a PR of 80 so the korean cant pass him.
In the other hand, the Altmaier loss leaves Marterer as the fourth german if he manages to qualify, altmaier miss Paris.
What if Sumit Nagal is champion?
Do we have already any news on possible partnerships for the Olympics?
Rafael Matos and Marcelo Melo will play together next week, hopefully something good comes out of that.
For Spain, I have a feeling that Nadal will play with Alcaraz, perhaps only on doubles! And Zeballos could pick any doubles player.
Has Matthew Ebden already gave any indications on his partner?
ExpandWell not necessarily; Zeballos is surely one of the 10 doubles players with a secure ticket, if his NOC nominates him.
Plus ITF and the IOC rarely respect the quotas.
I have a feeling this year they will, specially in the men's side - to hold on their desired 50-50 quota. Probably we will see a lot of singles priorities.
Expandwe have the 1st finalist in Men's Singles :-
Moez EChargui 2 - 0
Mohamed Safwat
is the other semifinal being broadcasted somewhere? Cheering for Benjamin Lock, as Laura Pigossi's beau. would be great to have a Olympic couple.
ExpandThe 4 main seeds at the men's draw are alive. they are the only ones that could realistically use the Olympic quota.
Aziz Dougaz needed a 10-8 MTB win to pass
in the first round and will face
Elliot Benchetri in a QF
Moez Echargui play against
Eliakim Coulibaly
Benjamin Lock lost at the R32 according to the official website but he also won (?) so he will face
Michel Bassem in the QF (seriously, what's so difficult on posting a pdf draw in the website?)
Mohamed Safwat #368 will face
Iradukunda Guy Orly
On the women's side
WOMEN'S
Mayar Sherif is the big favorite and is on the QF.
The only other African woman on the top400,
Sada Nahimana started well, winning 6-0 6-0 but then lost to a south african player. I wonder if the Universality quota will go to her or again to

Having said all that, it's a bit of a nightmare to follow...
You find things like that on the scorelines
There is one Kenyan journalist and one from Zimbabwe that may help us with that specially when time comes to decide things.
