Pan Am Championships started yesterday, Canada won 2 gold medals on the first day of WW, (we had 0 last year), albeit both were in non-Olympic events. However, Karla Godinez did win gold by beating former World Champion and fifth place finisher in Tokyo, Jacarra Winchester of the USA.

50 kg: Genevieve Morrison (return of sorts, was the gold medalist at the 2015 Pan Am Games)
