I will not get my hopes up because I'm always let down when I do this, but I'm surprised! Very nice results overall!

MHSN 3,047 Posted May 5, 2018 #25 Share Posted May 5, 2018 After such a bad start. losing to Kazakhstan and almost losing to USA. all of a sudden Iran changed gear and beat everybody to advance to the 1st division for the 1st time ever ! Noshad Alamian beat some good players on the way. he beat Kou Lei in last match to finish the job. PS: I think Iran even had a top 8 finish but that was long long time ago when Table tennis wasn't an Olympic sport. thepharoah

thepharoah 2,264 Posted May 5, 2018 #30 Share Posted May 5, 2018 Germany will take on China in a classic men's final , they defeated much hardly Korea 3-2 today , but i wonder why Ovtcharov didn't play many matches in this tournament , he only played one match and lost against Korea , China defeated Sweden easily 3-0 , as the Swedish team won their 1st medal since 2004
