Wait, if 0-0 draw is possible in kumite, doesn't that give a ton of advantage to the athletes of the last match, depending on how the previous matches went? Like, what's stopping them to have a friendly 0-0 if that's the only outcome where they both qualify?

This is why this round robin is extremely stupid. Both  and  knew that a 0-0 almost certainly qualifies them, and guess what, it's a 0-0 draw.

to be honest they both tried to score for 1 or 2 minutes but yes the last minute was just nothing. they were stalling. and why not. that was enough for both of them.

 

people usually don't advise having round robin competition in individual sports. specially martial arts.

Second 0-0 draw, and I wouldn't be surprised if the next men's match will also be a 0-0 as that would likely be beneficial for both of them.
