Womens 70kg, I think Canada will not take up the quota, I think she is pregnant. Does anyone know how that quota will be reallocated?

They won't take the quota but this should give Canada a quota in the team event, and they can compete even if they lose this quota. This spot will be given to the next ranked athlete in the WR.

wonderful act of fair play by Asahina earlier today in the gold medal match against her teammate Tomita...   since Tomita was injured at the end of the fight and couldn't even walk anymore, A

Unless I have miscalculated something, there are no changes in women's 52kg and men's 66kg after the WCh in terms of the world quotas.   Women's 52kg

I have checked the world rankings and I think I haven't made any errors in my previous calculations. Which means that these should be the world quotas.   Women's 48kg

But the question is when the reallocation will happen, before allocation of CQ or afterwards. That could be a big difference.

If they do it immediately Belgium gets it and frees one spot for Europe iro CQ.

remember the rule...if Canada (or any other Nation) can't start any girl in the 70, 78 or +78kg classes just can't take part into the team event, even if you have a quota place for that...

Canada needs someone in the women's -70kg, -78kg or +78kg to compete in the team event.

For sure he will get that spot. No other Pole can pass him.

So, how continental quota spot works? Each country which will qualify by ranking at least one athlete then automatically next best judoka from that nation will qualify as well even if is low in ranking, yes?

Only one per country can gain a continental quota.
