Only 38 bets left to answer! Let's take a look at the situation of the remaining ones in "general" category:

Spoiler

General (25)

1 - The number of Asian NOCs that win a medal will be higher than the number of Pan American NOCs that win a medal. [YES/NO - X]

Right now it's Asia 19 - America 15, it's not officially solved because there are some non-medaling american NOCs with people left to compete in athletics, but it's almost impossible to catch up.

3 - At least one individual medallist from Athens 2004 will win an individual medal. [YES/NO - X]

I don't really know the answer to this, but it seems like we were VERY close to a yes in equestrian. Werth won many medals that go as far back as to the 90s but she just didn't in Athens... No idea if someone in other sport did it.

4 - Japan will win at least 3 medals in team sports. [YES/NO - X]

Already Baseball and softball in the bag, have to wait for women's basketball and men's football.

5 - Spain will win more than 22 medals (their record). [YES/NO - X]

It's not a NO yet but it's virtually impossible.

9 - India will win 7 or more total medals, surpassing their highest ever number for a single edition. [YES/NO - X]

Already 5, with 3 good chances to add more (men's javelin, women's golf, women's hockey) + 2 more wrestlers to compete.

11 - Sweden will win more gold medals than Norway. [YES/NO - X]

Both with 2. Sweden has the women's football final, Norway has Men's beach volley final and both are in the women's handball semis....

12 - The number of gold medals won by Brazil will be equal or lower than the number of gold medals won by all other south american nations added up. [YES/NO - X]

Brazil has 4 with also 2 boxing finals + football final + good chances in canoeing and women's volleyball. The rest of SA has 3 golds with 1 argentina final in women's hockey and no other realistic chance of a gold barring an upset. Likely a NO.

14 - At least one athlete will test positive for cannabis. [YES/NO - X]

Who knows.

15 - Malaysia will win a gold medal. [YES/NO - X]

Men's Keirin is last hope.

17 - No nordic nation (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) will win more than 10 medals. [YES/NO - X]

Denmark has 8 + 1 secured in men's handball. Solid chances to add more in women's golf, track cycling and women's canoeing. Probably a NO.

18 - Bahrain will maximum win one medal. [YES/NO - X]

Still a chance in athletics.

19 - Canada will win at least 23 medals. [YES/NO - X]

18 for now with one more secured. Getting close.

20 - Jamaica's female athletes will stand/win at least 3/4 of Jamaica's medals overall. [YES/NO - X]

Only 2 medals in the 2 men's relays with no other female medal could prevent a YES.

22 - Italy will be ranked higher in the overall medal table in Tokyo than their 9th place in Rio 2016. [YES/NO - X]

Right now they are 9th but not likely to go up a place.

23 - ROC, France and Germany will end up higher in the overall medal table than Great Britain. [YES/NO - X]

Probably a NO.

24 - At least one nation will win 6 medals, but none of gold. [YES/NO - X]

Contenders for this: Colombia, India, Kazakhstan.

25 - At least one nation from every continent (the five olympic continents) will be represented in the top 20 in the medal table. [YES/NO - X]

Depends on what Kenya can do. Not looking likely as of now.

116 - At least one of the following athletes will score a first round victory - Ibrahima Diaw (SEN), Yoshua Shing (VAN), Dodji Fanny (TOG), Hend Zaza (SYR). Batmönkhiin Bolor-Erdene (MGL), Sarah de Nutte (LUX). [YES/NO - X]

What's the answer to this, is first round their first round or what is called round 1?

IMO it should be a no.

If no one especified we should be literal. The mongolian won in preliminary round, not first round.

This question involves the matches played in what is called Women's Singles Round 1. The answer ended being NO.

I've posted it in between sports a few days ago, but maybe this could be fun suggestion for an Olympic prediction game, stolen from a Dutch forum, where it's basically called 'Team of Gods' :p

The main premise is very simple: you take the following table, and fill it up with individual athletes you think will win a certain event. If the athletes wins said event, you get the points. Player with the most points wins. There's also a table for team events (being defined as every event where a medal is by rule won by more than one athlete at a time, so ice hockey obviously, but also doubles luge or 'mixed team short skateboard track figure shooting' or whatever gets added). The team event table goes from 30 to 27 to 24 all the way down to 3. Obviously the idea is to put your most certain winners highest.

The lower number of events at the Winter Olympics might make it better to not go for 32 and 11, but for - just guessing - 20 and 6 or so, but it could also be a good moment to try it out here :p

It's simple and keeping track of points is even simpler (just add the wins, done), and of course just for fun.
