She put in a fantastic performance at the Europeans finishing 7th and would be our first female shooter since 1996 and she is high up in the rankings. Derek on the other hand has had his chance at multiple Games and is not currently very high in the rankings. I wish we could take both of course! The women’s Trap is a reallocation of a host country spot while the men’s trap is a reallocation of a tripartite spot. Say, an athlete A gets a quota place in 10m Air Rifle Men. Now, if he has achieved MQS in any other event, he can start in those events as well as long as there are max 2 athletes per NOC in an event. This is the Double starters rule. For Mixed Team events, if an NOC has a male shooter and a female shooter with required MQS, they can be entered as a team in the Mixed Team event.
