I don't think they can choose, from what I know olympic quotas in marathon swimming are nominal bmo
bmo 180 Posted July 15, 2019 #103 Share Posted July 15, 2019 Yah, I just realized after I posted this. I have been away for awhile and I am just catching up on results from earlier competitions from the worlds. AlFHg

Even if theoretically she's the next in line? (Well, if this is the case, the next in line would be Olasz, I guess.) Taken directly from the qualification system: I assume that an injury will be considered as a decline of the quota so in case the world qualifier will count. But even more easily, in case an athlete gets injured the Olympic quota is simply lost and may not be reallocated thiago_simoes

heywoodu 13,500 Posted July 16, 2019 #108 Share Posted July 16, 2019 Why is this thread called marathon swimming and the world champs thread called open water swimming? If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated!
