Siddhartha Talukdar 121 Posted May 4, 2021 #111 Share Posted May 4, 2021 Why can't FIG release a statement now as to who qualified and who didn't. Isn't it in the interest of the gymnasts that they can start their preparation. Pranati Nayak hasn't trained in over a year

Japan has refused one host country quota and Manrique Larduet as well. Which means that Sofus Heggemsnes and David Jessen got the re-allocation quota. Can anybody confirm that? Larduet confirmed on his Instagram account that he's not training and he will not go to Tokyo. Heggemsnes had already been allocated to the host nation quota because Japan qualified a full team and was not eligible for a host quota anyway. Also, the article confirms Zonderland, but Miyachi can still outscore him. It's been said, however, that Japan will not send Miyachi to the next WC stage if it indeed takes place, but I highly doubt it.

Of course the rules are written in an absurd way but it should be clear for anyone familiar with the qualification system that she has not qualified. The logic that is being applied for and to qualify does not apply to any other event according to the qualification documents. In my opinion, this is absurd. The fact that so many websites are reporting this, including the IOC, is very worrisome. I will be very disappointed if FIG somehow decides to "bend" the rules in this specific case and deny and of a quota. This probably add more confusion, has released a statement that Rifda Irfanaluthfi has qualified for AA due to Asian Championships being cancelled too

Not impossible, but given that is also eligible for the invitation, apparently, it's quite premature to expect to be invited -- and even a little bit absurd after she qualified on her own merits. But this system is nothing but absurd, so I won't be surprised if qualifies.

If he wins the championship and scores more than 15.333 then he will receive the quota directly. Otherwise he has to wait wild card or some other specialized qualification procedure. opruh
