Today the Brazilian media said that the qualification rules was changed by FINA shortly after the World Cup and only the athletes who reached the finals there guaranteed their spots to Tokyo 2020. So now we only have two qualified athletes instead of four, but the Brazilian Olympic Committee will appeal. What a mess:facepalm:

There is a link (in portuguese) about this controversy: https://www.uol.com.br/esporte/colunas/olhar-olimpico/2021/05/19/canetada-tira-vaga-de-brasileiros-que-estavam-classificados-para-toquio.htm?utm_source=chrome&utm_medium=webalert&utm_campaign=blog-olhar-olimpico

Interesting this is coming to light now for the Brazilian NF.

Canada for ex: "With his 16th place finish, Ciprick (Baie D’Urfé, QC) keeps Canada in the running to unlock an Olympic spot in the men’s 3m individual event. Diving Plongeon Canada will learn if they receive a spot after other federations confirm their rosters to FINA. The remaining spots will be distributed by FINA based on the 2021 World Cup results."

I think there is no update in qualification system . It is misunderstanding from your federation

Form day1 the rule is that up to 18 athletes fro world "not all 18" will qualify from world cup

As per calculation there is 71 qualified athletes in mens if we counted highest 18 athletes in each event and so Oliver singlet :IRL in 3m springboard and Isaac Souza :BRA and two noshida :JPN in 10m platform will not qualify

In women there is 73 qualified players so :BRA & :SWE in 3m springboard and :NED & :MAS in 10m platform and one from :GBR & and :FRA will not qualify
