Quartefinal 1: Fontana and St Gelais advance...I agree Quartefinal 2: Christie and Boutin advance...Yes Quarterfinal 3: Kexin and Prosvirnova advance...Kexin for sure...the other 3 are pretty equal...it will all go down to the start...the one who takes the advantage at the first curve, she has the best chance to be second (my pick is on the other Chinese girl)... Quarterfinal 4: Choi and Chu advance...Valcepina is stronger than Chu, but I fear her not-so-much-a-fighter attitude...once again, it's all in the start move...she has to be at the top of the race at the first curve, since Choi in any case will comeback at a later stage of the heat not being a start specialist, but being a lot faster than any other skater... How will the two semifinals be put together? Athletes from Quartefinal 1 & 2 -> Semifinal 1? no, it will be determined by the QTRs' times...fastest, 4th, 5th and 8th in the semi #1; the others in the semi #2 (it's the standard procedure in all the short track races)... orangeman 1,323 Posted February 13, 2018 #102 Share Posted February 13, 2018 I agree with phelps' analysis above. I am so nervous for the relay tonight. I was so disappointed in Sochi with all the falls. Hopefully tonight everyone stays on their feet so Canada and Korea can duke it out in the final. I'm still disappointed about that relay final in Sochi where the Dutch team fell after a meter or 20 (around 5 centimeters too late to restart the race) If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! heywoodu 13,552 Posted February 13, 2018 #106 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Van Kerkhof fell in time, unlike the Dutch relay team in the Olympic final last time..
