Looks like some European nation can get it.
Anshul Chavhan 1 Posted December 18, 2019 #9492 Share Posted December 18, 2019 What are India's chances in Sailing. I know we can only qualify via Continental qualifiers. But is there any hope?

There is no next gen in the female version. Badminton could be a big disaster. We will have a good representation but zero hope.

No there is no Universality quota in Sailing. The last athlete qualified from India was in 2008.

Women's Laser Radial Should be easy quota for Nethra Kumanan who finished 5th at AG 2018 as 4 nations above her are qualified. She just needs to do better than Singapore athlete to qualify. Women's 49erFX Silver medallist pair from AG 2018. The gold medalist have qualified already but they need to be above Thailand and China like in AG but championship in China . Men's 49er Bronze at AG 2018 just 0.5 points behind Korea.Japan winners already qualified. So it will be a 3 way battle with even Oman in the mix . So 1-5 sailors at Tokyo 2020, hopefully at least 3. There is also a chance in ongoing 470 Asian Championships. There are only 15 teams: 5 from China (not eligible), 5 from India and 5 from other nations. But, since no team of ours participated in Asian Games, not sure how good are our chances of winning the lone quota on offer.

Also, the Thai and Korean teams were AG medalist and the Malaysian team also had a good finish.
