So, now the hard questions. Avatar of Andrade's silver (but in the all-around!) or of her gold (but in one apparatus)? :d

Gold is gold! As soon as we have the pic with a medal, I'll change it. LOL.

Crazy achievement for :BRA Andrade. I can't even begin to imagine what this means to Brazilian WAG.

Also huge congrats to :USA Skinner for winning silver after being left off the team and initially missing out on the finals and to :KOR Yeo for throwing down the best single vault of the night.

One of probably only two or three medal ceremonies I've seen during these Olympics, all because of mostly @thiago_simoes's  'emotional investment' (if that's the right word) in Andrade, which was contagious :d:cheer:

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Well, now I can write a little bit more.

I'm fully aware that Rebeca didn't have good landings. This is not the vault final I envisioned, to be honest. Beautiful form in the air, but the landings were not great. Still, a fair result, especially considering that Skinner's vaults are lower in height and not as great in execution -- except for the landings, which of course were better. But for those who don't understand, the landings on Rebeca's vaults were deducted around 0.1 to 0.3 each, so no big deal in the end. This is how the Code of Points works.

Skinner did so well to keep her mental fortitude. She went from a retired gymnast after qualifications to an Olympic silver medalist. I'm not a fan of her political ideas, but as a gymnast her life story is very touching and she deserves this medal.

Yeo Seo-jeong went through all the trouble to create a new vault, with the highest difficulty in the final and the biggest single score. I was following the tweets about  the training sessions before this final, and Yeo crashed all her attempts, so the fact that she hit in the final and got a medal is amazing. Another fairy tale story here came true.

Moreno had the best vaults in her career and missing a medal by such a small margin must be heartbreaking. I hope she sticks around for 2024, and I hope Olsen also keeps training because she has enough potential to be a medalist if she improves her execution. Her vaults were not the cleanest, but the difficulty was high.

Carey had a terrible day. I'm glad she's okay, but it was hard to watch. Good news is that she will perform on floor finals and she's the favorite for the gold medal thanks to her level of difficulty alone, which is the highest among all competitors -- provided Biles decides not to compete there.

Overall, a very interesting final with LOTS of hard vaults. This was probably the final with the highest combined level of difficulty across all competitors in Olympic history. Either this or Beijing, but I still think this takes the cake for the sheer number of Cheng vaults alone.
