phelps 6,795 Posted May 16, 2021 #491 Share Posted May 16, 2021 Alessandro Talotti died yesterday at the age of only 40 because of a cancer. He was 2 time Olympian in Athletics, men's High Jump (finalist in Athens 2004, out in the qualification round in Beijing 2008). His wife is multiple Roller Skating (Artistic) world champion Silvia Stibilj and they have a 1-year young baby, which makes Alessandro's death even tougher to be accepted... He might have repeated in 1972, but for one bad race in the US trials. rafalgorka
Monzanator 3,593 Posted May 20, 2021 #495 Share Posted May 20, 2021 Sandor Puhl - referee of 1994 World Cup final and 1997 UEFA Champions League final has passed away at age 65. He was probably the best European referee in the mid 90s but his international career was cut short when he failed to send off Denis Irwin in UCL match in late 1997 IIRC. Laszlo Vagner was nominated for 1998 World Cup as well.
