First woman in the men's eight final in rowing history :d

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

China losing gold medals in table tennis, badminton and weightlifting, Italy is potentially missing out on a gold in fencing, and now the US not winning any medals in rowing AND Great Britain maybe not winning any gold medals.... Please, Tokyo2020, spare us in Canoe Sprint. :d

Thanks for making me even more nervous now :d

Not that surprising that countries without Covid (New Zealand & Australia) and countries that pretend that Covid doesn't exist (Netherlands) are doing great ...

Only surprising that Sweden and North Korea didn't do better ...

Also interesting progression by the greek guy in single sculls ... from being completely irrelevant all of his career to olympic gold in such a short time.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Stefanos Ntouskos said before the Games that he considered early retirement (he is 24) because he is studying (medicine I think) and he doesn't have real help, he cannot work like a professional, as other athletes from the other countries do. So he is quite an example, and hopefully he will keep fighting with more support now. Fantastic race!!! We are on the medal table at last!

I agree, it's been a problem for many of our rowers. Most are super young compared to other nations, go to the Olympics once and then are never seen from again. It's a cyclical problem and hopefully this will bring more attention and money to the sport, or at least to Ntouskos so we can see him in Paris and beyond.
