Something is wrong on IWF's website https://www.iwf.net/new_bw/results_by_events/?event_type=all&event_age=all&event_nation=all&x=11&y=7 No other results are important. Only results from the legendary WCH in Ashgabat count. Spoiler mrv86, dcro, heywoodu and 2 others 4
MHSN 3,168 Posted December 20, 2018 #112 Share Posted December 20, 2018 Start list for Qatar Cup which started today https://www.iwf.net/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2018/12/Start_book_DOHA.pdf the most interesting name is Ilya Ilyin ! I wonder if he will really lift anything or it will be another "no mark" for him. he needs 6 results for the qualification. 4 of them will be counted. so he has one more "no mark" to give his entry is very low for 109kg but you never know

I thought the results counting also needed to have some meaning (like, good results means higher ranking) If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! I thought the results counting also needed to have some meaning (like, good results means higher ranking) well for IWF, if you participate in weight-in which is 2 hours before the competition you will be listed in results book and that will be counted as a result. that's what exactly Ilyin did in the World Championships. Olympic qualification rules say you need 6 results in these 18 months (at least one in each 6 months period) and 4 best results will be counted. so he can afford having two "no marks" btw for IWF, participating in weight-in and then not showing up is equal to participating but bombing out which happens a lot. heywoodu
JoshMartini007 2,203 Posted December 20, 2018 #115 Share Posted December 20, 2018 I just checked the schedule and there is no Oceania Championships during the first set, this could make things hard for those nations if they want to qualify normally. Only Australia, New Zealand and Samoa sent athletes to the World Championships. Maybe they could make the Pacific Islands Email Tournament an eligible tournament. It doesn't help that the World Cup in China is being held at the same time. At best they could head to the Las Vegas Open during the Youth World Championships. If not, Samoa stands to benefit from this while all the other nations will fight for likely 1 male and 1 female tripartite spot. Also would the Oceania Championship, Commonwealth Championship and Pacific Games count as three results, despite being held at the same time? I know in 2017 they used the same lifts in both the Oceania and Commonwealth Championships.

MHSN 3,168 Posted December 22, 2018 #117 Share Posted December 22, 2018 Another "no mark " for Ilyin I wonder if he knows he can't do that anymore. this is funny he was 101.76 for the World Champs not long ago. today he weighted 108.30 ! well I think he is up to something . he is really the biggest cheater ever. no WR in this Qatar Cup but some results in women's competition were so close to the WR. the only notable result in men's comeptition was "Hassouna Fares" (who? ) I wonder if he is the same guy as "Fares Ibrahim Hassouna El-Bakh" or maybe a brother/cousin of him ?!
