That is what upsets me most about U.S. action/opinion on international affairs/events. Olympic boycotts (or close calls) were extremely common throughout the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s. They happened for all types of reasons too. Podium protests were also a big issue in that period. Politics always ruins sport but you want the Cold War to return so I'm not surprised you're trying to justify another boycott. I directly blame Winnie the Pooh and the rest of China's Communist leadership for this shitty pandemic. I really feel bad for the Chinese people, though. We are at a point where American players can't even criticize China because they want their money. The NHL would never miss an opportunity to promote their sport and athletes on a market as popular as China. They would go as far as to order every NHL athlete to not say anything about Hong Kong. The boycott would hurt the US (NHL) much more than it would hurt China. This isn't the Cold War anymore... because China already won this "Second Cold War". People outside the US literally can’t say worst things about the US than Americans themselves say, frankly the most unfairly harsh critics of America come from within. We air our dirty laundry. Which is, incidentally, what I appreciate the most about living in the US. If the PRC didn’t have anything to hide they wouldn’t crack down on free speech.
