People outside the US literally can’t say worst things about the US than Americans themselves say, frankly the most unfairly harsh critics of America come from within. We air our dirty laundry. Which is, incidentally, what I appreciate the most about living in the US.

If the PRC didn’t have anything to hide they wouldn’t crack down on free speech.

Oh really, when will the us media start condemning themselves for supporting the ongoing genocide in yemen along with other countries like saudi, uk and france?

Will the us senators sanction themselves for these human rights violation?

You air your dirty laundry right?

Because keeping everything bottled up is so much healthier. :)

Africa threatened to boycott the 1968 Olympics so hard that they got the IOC to toss out South Africa until apartheid ended :d

The Eastern Block also threatened to join that boycott.

Olympic boycotts (or close calls) were extremely common throughout the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s. They happened for all types of reasons too. Podium protests were also a big issue in that period.

Anyone remember the 1964 Summer Olympic boycott?

1964 isn't really a boycott though.. It's a ban delivered to a team when it is approaching the stadium for opening ceremony :p

Border Conflict with India - India’s allies might refuse to attend the Games as a show of support for India should that conflict flare up again.

I don't think US/UK/Japan/EU etc. would boycott Olympics in case of India-China war. And I don't think anyone would notice if India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, etc. would boycott the Winter Olympics.

But, if at the time of WOG, there is increased tension at border, there is a possibility that many athletes would withdraw from the Olympics. I know, Beijing is very far from India-China border but still.

I can't believe the enthousiasm for the Winter Olympics already, more than one and a half year before the event. This stuff is on fire! :hyper:

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Trump is planning to ban the 91 millions plus member of the communist party in China plus their family members, China will most likely choose to retaliate by banning republicans/democrats and their family members. Such thing happening means that americans will be banned from attending the winter olympics in China. A big win for humanity.

Yes, Indonesia was banned.

North Korea and China choose to boycott the Games though.
