Very interesting read about the dressage competition of Tokyo 1964.

Part 1 focuses on the background (dressage was held under the IOC's scrutiny at the time due to the nationalistic judging from 1956). It also focuses on the adventurous journeys to Tokyo.

Piggy March & Brookfield Inocent (traveling reserves) are out, and Rosalind Canter & Allstar B are in for the British eventing team.

Quite dubious reasoning was given... No injury or whatever. It just seems as though being a reserve was beneath the expectations of 'Piggy' March.

Equiratings prediction for the individual eventing.

Seems like their model still has a major weakness. They value every 4*/5* competition the same, and that's just not the case in practice.

:ROC Andrey Mitin having 2% chance of Top 10 is just wrong. It's closer to 0.0002%. :p

:GER Krajewski is hilariously overrated. Jung / the Brits are somewhat overrated too. They are not that dominant. Some names are underrated.

Funny seeing Equiratings give Sam Watson, one of the founders of equiratngs, the best chance of an Irish medal

Yeah, Cathal Daniels might have something to say about that. :p

There is a lot to like about Watson & Flamenco, but they had a drive-by at the (in)famous Luhmuhlen colorful bird obstacle in 2019 so... They have a tainted record when it matters most.
