dcro 10,172 Posted August 2, 2021 #436 Share Posted August 2, 2021 WOW Julia Krajewski takes the gold. Amazing. The same athlete who screwed Team Germany at three consecutive championships (2016 Olympics, 2017 Europeans, 2018 WEG). Well done! I never saw it coming (hence why she wasn't offered in the prediction contest ). Tom McEwen and his perfect show jumper got silver. Andrew Hoy gets another medal! Sad for Kazuma Tomoto getting a wooden medal for hosts, but still a pretty great result nevertheless. Adriano 1 #banbestmen
dcro 10,172 Posted August 2, 2021 #437 Share Posted August 2, 2021 By the way, Julia Krajewski becomes the first woman to take the individual eventing title. Closest so far were Karen Stives (Los Angeles 1984) and Sara Algotsson Ostholt (London 2012), who both got relegated to silver after dropping a fence in show jumping. mrv86 and Adriano 2 #banbestmen

Already wanted to write that it is quite funny that she wins gold after all the "hate" she got from you (basically calling her a security risk for the team). Too bad that Blum couldn't be here, otherwise german women could have won all individual golds. Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.
