dcro 10,179 Posted March 17, 2021 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2021 Season started today in Wellington, with Germany taking surprise lead over the US and Canada. Competition concludes tomorrow. https://results.equestrian-hub.com/show/551/teams/22 Interestingly, Canada entered pretty much their four main Olympic candidates into this competition, and it was Chris von Martels, on paper the weakest link, who was the best performing Canadian today by a mile. #banbestmen
dcro 10,179 Posted March 18, 2021 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2021 Germany wins in a dramatic conclusion. 448.568% 448.381% 437.071% 391.089% Young Ben Ebeling takes much of the blame. On both days, he risked it all for the passage on the final centerline (8.3 average), what caused his horse to lose the rhythm going into piaffe (4.75 average). Mid-test piaffes averaged above 7.0. #banbestmen

dcro 10,179 Posted May 29, 2021 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2021 Standings after Day 1. dcro 10,179 Posted May 30, 2021 #6 Share Posted May 30, 2021 Drama in Compiegne. Cathrine Dufour could not convince Bohemian to enter the arena on Day 2. So they were eliminated. And since this competition has no discard scores (same as the Olympics), Team Denmark is eliminated as well, after holding the lead previously. Pretty nightmarish outcome for the Danes... Bohemian is a massive talent, no doubt about that, but damn... Just imagine this incident repeating in Tokyo, right when the medals are being decided... Back to the drawing board with Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein and Kyra Kyrklund come Monday! #banbestmen
