Your Country's 2020 Sportsman/Sportswoman of the year???

Today is a Polish contest Gala, but I think it's clear - the top 3 will be Lewandowski, Świątek, Zmarzlik, most probably in this order. 4-5 shall be for Błachowicz and Kubacki, but it's possible that Stoch as the winner of 2021 Four Hills might get some votes tonight, no matter it's 2020 contest. That's usually how it works here - Stoch and Kowalczyk always have had it easier.

Hungary will have its awards ceremony today, the nominees are...

 

Sportsman of the Year

Márton Fucsovics - tennis, he reached the Top16 at the Australian Open and the Roland Garros

Péter Gulácsi - football, goalkeeper of the Hungarian NT (EURO2020 qualification) and RB Leipzig (Champions League Semi-final)

Dominik Szoboszlai - football, winning goal against Iceland for EURO2020, great year at RB Salzburg

 

Sportswoman of the Year

Boglárka Kapás - swimming, best Hungarian swimmer at the ISL series

Hedvig Karakas - judo, won 57kg at the European Championships

Zsófia Kovács - gymnastics, won vault and uneven bars at the European Championships

 

Paralympicon of the Year

Judit Berente - cross-country skiing and biatlon, three gold medals at the Winter World Transplant Games

Pál Péter Kiss - canoe sprint,  won two races at the Paracanoe World Cup

Richárd Osváth - fencing, won sabre and foil at the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup

 

Team of the Year

Tímea Babos & Kristina Mladenovic - tennis, won the Australian Open and the Roland Garros in women's doubles

Men's tennis team - beat Belgium at the Davis Cup, qualified for the Finals

Men's water polo team - won the European Championship

 

Coach of the Year

Tamás Marcz - men's water polo team

Serhiy Rebrovj - Ferencváros football team

Marco Rossi - men's football team

 

Greatest Sportsmoment of the Year

 

Szoboszlai's winning goal against Iceland

 

 

Attila Valter wins the Tour de Hongrie

 

 

Men's Water polo team wins the European Championship

Bratislava born Lukáš Hradecký (Lukas Hradecky) Goalkeeper of German Football club Bayer Leverkusen and Finland national team was named Ahlete of the Year in :FIN:d ahead of Sami Välimäki (Golf) 3rd Miro Heiskanen (Ice Hockey), and the F1 rider Valtteri Bottas 4th.

people prize: Duplantis won. Linn Svahn, Cross  country skiing 2nd. 
 

best team: Hasselborg, Curling

 

best woman :  Linn Svahn

best male : Armand Duplantis, pole vault
