Monzanator 3,569 Posted November 19, 2021 #281 Share Posted November 19, 2021 It's a bluff. WTA can't afford to drop the Chinese money long-term. Players will never agree to paycuts if Chinese money is gone. Ted and opruh

Don’t rule out sporting bodies being sanctioned for dealing with China in the years to come.

Yes and also Halep and Kvitova are much more famous than Sakkari and they also posted today about it. My point was that in the current top 10, nobody besides Sakkari (at least as far as I am aware) has posted anything about it. EDIT-I now see that Badosa and Jabeur eventually posted too. Orangehair43 169 Posted November 20, 2021 #286 Share Posted November 20, 2021 What percentage of players will boycott the Australian Open due being mandated to be vaccinated. I doubt anywhere near as many as anti vaxers hope for. Ted
Monzanator 3,569 Posted November 20, 2021 #287 Share Posted November 20, 2021 If Djokovic plays then everyone plays. Hell, even Sabalenka got vaccinated after missing Indian Wells with COVID. This controversy is basically over.

He won't boycott his most successful Grand Slam Btw, we have a new WTA record in broken serves in a single match. World junior #1 Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva beat Maria Lourdes Carle 7-6 5-7 7-5 in a match that lasted 3h 47 minutes and featured 26(!) broken service games in the Montevideo Open 125k. VJK is only 16 years old so you'll probably hear about her in the future anyway. dcro and Ted
