Grassmarket 2,749 Posted October 1, 2021 #21 Share Posted October 1, 2021 Amateur boxing corrupt from top to bottom, according to this evidence. It’s a great shame, because it ought to be one of those sports where poor nations can do as well as rich ones. Always was suspicious after the very transparent judging system used at Beijing 2008 was changed back to the subjective judges’ verdict system in 2012. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-10049895/Olympics-boxing-judges-bribed-thousands-dollars-hidden-toothpaste-tubes.html

Federer91 2,134 Posted October 16, 2021 #24 Share Posted October 16, 2021 AIBA World Champs in Belgrade are nearing and for the first time in history there will be a prize fund for the medalists. Gold medal will be $100,000, silver $50,000 and both bronze medalist get $25,000. Wonder from where exactly they got the money. Our team was very enthusiastic about this at their press-conference, but most likely they still won't win anything And the other thing is, why the heck are they going to have 13 categories?! Like the IOC is reducing them by the minute and they bring in more... 10 was more than enough and well balanced. Guess it's some profi-boxing structuring. (Yes, i know they used to be 12 in the past, but i find 10 to be the optimal number) mrv86
NaBUru38 204 Posted October 22, 2021 #25 Share Posted October 22, 2021 Boxing loves to have too many weight classes. In my opinion the gaps should be not smaller than 8%.
