Another total disaster at Lenzerheide. Probably not gonna watch any of the rest of events this weekend. Just cancel it all and hand the globes over to Pinturault and Vlhova and fuck off.

It's obvious the tech skiers have a tremendous advantage for the overall over speed speciallists so no, @hckošice is totally wrong here. But since he's biased then it's obvious he won't admit it :dunno:

Everyone has the right to his opinion, I respect that. But on the other hand, I disagree with the claim that Lara (which I really like as athlete btw) deserves more the big globe than Petra.

If Lara wanted to win thr big globe, why didn't she start in any slalom ? Petra was the only one to compete in all competitions, every fricking race the whole season ! for this goal and hopefully arriving success she had to sacrify her strongest disciplines (was mainly visible with her struggling in GS) and had to train much much more and mainly in speed disciplines. She entered races without any support team and practically no information about the pistes and slopes in the downhill runs in places she stood for the first time in her life and never was before there at all, yet she managed to get an incredible number of points many times against opponents much more experienced and I suppose better than she is in the mentioned evets.

So for me only based on this point of view, Petra deserves the big globethis season the most of all. She sacrificed for it the most.

You may disagree, but I personally think If she focused only on her disciplines SL & GS, it is very likely that both small globes would probably have already been decided right now. Next season she will focus back only on SL&GS+AC with the Beijing Gold goal, concentrate fully only on them and race only in a couple of WC races before the Olympics, how it will finish we will see in Beijing.

Agree: the whole point of the overall globe is to find the best all-rounder, not the person with the most wins or podiums.  That’s why each race is scored as it is, so nobody can rack up an impossible lead for that one good month where classic events are bunched together.

But there is only one person who does all four events and that is Vlhova. Even Shiffrin skips speed races on purpose. So what's the point of finding the best all-arounder when there is only ONE all-arounder to begin with? And quite frankly Vlhova as an all-arounder is light years below Janica Kostelic, Tina Maze, Pernilla Wiberg, hell, even Martina Ertl had more all-around success IMO.

Wait, what ?

when exactly did I say something like that. You put words in my mouth that I never said.

I have never claimed that there are the same number of disciplines. after all, it is obvious.

I'm just trying the millionth time to explain that Petra deserve fully the globe,

the calendar was created early before the season, everyone knew what it would look like. Is it Petra who created the calendar ? Is it Magoni who created this schedule ? Is it their faults FIS schedulled more technical events than speed races ? and yet they removed all parallel slaloms (Petra top discipline) and replaced them by only 1 Parallel GS, they never replaced the cancelled GS from Sestriere, where Petra was btw leading after the 1st run. The GS was the only cancelled race of the season until today Downhill. The rules and schedule were the same for everyone, go and shout at the clouds that FIS is unfair with its world cup schedulling..

Once again, No one prevented Lara from racing in slaloms and trying to collect some points. who know, mabe she would earn here 10 points, there another 15 and so... Petra sacrified GS & SL trainings to learn speed disciplines, entered all downhill of the season, although she is piss poor bad in them. Even so, she yet managed to collect some valuable points, these points can very well decide in the end.

and I really have also other things to do than constantly repeat the same words and arguments like a parrot, so, I will not longer bether myself with this.

Cheer to whoever you want, think whatever you want.

I hope Petra will win it, because she deserve it and even if she will fail, nevermind, she already made miracles based on the situation and all circumstances, so for me the case is closed

@hckošice Sorry, you're fighting a lost war. The comment "Gut should do slaloms" is a perfect example. Brignone does slaloms and it doesn't help her whatsover. It's better to be very good at three events and DNS the fourth rather than very good at one and serviceable at three others. Marcel Hirscher proved that for years already, he never needed to enter downhills bc he didn't need to. Hell, he even struggled at parallel events a lot too. So, whatever was good for Hirscher suddenly isn't good enough for Gut? That's pure nonsense.

In case anyone still gives a fuck, there's more fog with the Super G start delayed by 60 minutes already. I don't care how much money Lenzerheide pays I hope it NEVER hosts the World Cup finals ever again.

This is right up there with 2011 bullshit where they cancelled four individual events but staged the meaningless Team Event.

Wow, this must be the most anticlimactic decision ever in the overall, especially the women's

It was a pretty nice fight between a technical specialist and a speed specialist. Well, RIP that.
