Grassmarket 2,715 Posted October 5, 2020 #31 Share Posted October 5, 2020 Ganna will also lose the Maglia Rosa - has been delegated to help Thomas. Thomas gets back on to a bigger group on a descent but not looking good. Seemingly a hip injury. Thomas lost a minute already in the foothills. Brad Wiggins thinks it’s a broken rib - end of race. Simon Yates also in trouble! Cannot keep up with 8k to go. Idiot fans out in force today. Jonathan Caicedo & EF Pro wins the stage after being in the day’s breakaway. Looks like Nibali, Fuglsang, Pozzovivo, Majka, Kruijswijk for the overall. Yates & Thomas surely out of it for good. Sagan’s bid for the KoM jersey also a casualty. Federer91 2,114 Posted October 5, 2020 #32 Share Posted October 5, 2020 If today's stage was any indicator, we have a wild, wild Giro ahead (pretty much like every year)
heywoodu 13,504 Posted October 6, 2020 #33 Share Posted October 6, 2020 @phelps @Gianlu33 Do Italians not work or something? What's up with these finishing times being before 17:00 for literally every stage and today even around 16:00? If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! All the Belgian classics, plus week 3 of the Giro will coincide with Week 1 of the Vuelta, so is possibly UCI imposed.
Dunadan 1,103 Posted October 6, 2020 #35 Share Posted October 6, 2020 It wouldn't be smart to plan stage winners to finish at 17:30-18:00 as usual, October is much colder and sunsets are a couple of hours before if compared to May. And for tv audience there's no big difference between 16:30 or 17:30, it's not prime time.

Hopefully in the Vuelta it'll finish a bit later, usually tons of people tune in (at least here) for the last part of the stage after work (considering most people, of course not all, are finished by then), but that's a bit difficult now Luckily there's such a thing as working at home and starting a bit earlier to be able to stop earlier and watch anyway If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! dcro 10,172 Posted October 6, 2020 #37 Share Posted October 6, 2020 My workplace is only about 5 km away from home, and even I can rarely make it in time. It's disappointing. #banbestmen
