Totallympics International Song Contest - Special Event

It makes so much sense that Vojthas picked Monaco and this entry. The singer is Princess Stéphanie of Monaco and Vojthas from time to time talk about Prince Albert here on the forum. This song also sound like something from the 80's which Vojthas often reference to here on the forum.

I knew just from the song tbh. It reeked of @Werloc tastes. I actually was going to post multiple times that I thought it was you, but I didn’t want to be the only person guessing people’s identity before the final.

The song isn’t bad, it just isn’t for me. You railed on other songs for being overproduced, but Japan’s was bad. It can’t stand that pop-rock style where you can barely here the singer over the background instruments. The song did score highly in book for its lyrical merit though.

I thought that it didn't reek my taste since I usually don't go for those heavy instrumental songs and a lot of it was through electric guitar instrumentation.

And basically there you're complaining about the song being under-produced (instruments peaking in the mix, whilst vocals are slightly pushed back.) Yeah it's a rough mix, which I thought that the grating guitars might irk some of the users, but those who like to headbang to music like that might have enjoyed it.

I'm not that much into screamo music, but for some odd reason, I liked Hatari's Eurovision performance, which might have been boosted a lot by having a good hook, which I felt that this song lacked a bit.

And yes, the video indeed looked very thirsty.

The thing that’s somewhat unique about Klámstrákur when it comes to Hatari’s music, is that it is Klemens who does the main vocals. Usually it’s Mathias’ persona who’s screaming about the errors of the world, while Klemens sings more angelically about hope or beautiful destruction (i.e. Ragnarok). I think there’s a lot of symbolism in giving the “repressed” character the lead in this song.

This song is much more BDSM and techno than most of their other music too.

I'm as shocked for @heywoodu Belize :p

Yeah I had no idea what to choose and then picked a country of which I had absolutely no way to find anything that really clicked

My options were this and a local death metal band, but at least this is more traditional which I found more valuable than some international kind of genre.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Yeah I wasn’t shocked at all when he told me. I believe my exact response was “Of course.”

Leave it to the royalist, rock loving user to choose the royalist, rock song :p

Hey, every contest needs it’s thirsty song. :p

I didn’t intend to choose Hatari at all, I very much intended to choose KALEO, but I then saw Klámstrákur and thought “Well I have to submit that to see how Totallympians will react to that.” :p

I’ve really grown to like the song as well. It’s a play on how women are often overly sexualized in the music industry. I’m not all that disappointed where the song ended up. I’m only upset about losing to Cuba because that was easily one of the worst songs in the contest.

when my girldfriend and i watched the  Iceland clip we were......., i only watched ONCE :p
