That was received as excellent news here :p The main problem (for the team) was her joining the team to the Czech Republic after travelling by train (despite the trains not being very busy and her probably taking more care than anyone else for a long time now). Trust me, the cancellation of those races made an enormous shitload of doubts and complications disappear :d

Meanwhile she finally managed to travel out of here and towards competition areas yesterday morning. We put her on a train trip towards the Oberstdorf region and since the German railways are....not the very greatest in the world, within 5 minutes of departure I already saw there were sudden major issues on her route, so I spent the rest of the Sunday (succesfully!) navigating her from train to train and steering clear of all the trouble. Fun fact: all the delays and the subsequent changes in routes and trains meant she ended up at her destination nearly one hour earlier than originally planned because the detours were done with the fast ICE trains :d

Anyhow, our resident Olympic hopeful has made it to the Oberstdorf area yesterday afternoon and is, for all intents and purposes, ready to race at the world championships!

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

This seems...slightly worrying for next week's world championships..

Yes, we‘re expecting temperatures over 10 Degrees in the next time and it could get even warmer. But at the moment there is enough snow in reserve, so we not worry to much. But you‘re right, especially when so many athletes skis over the track it could get very deep and it could be a question who finds the right wax.

On the bright side, technique will become less important and power/endurance more important if the tracks get so bad :p

Something which I personally find not a bad thing at all. As long as there's enough snow to race of course, let's hope so.

Snow here in Baldershwang, only 20km away from Oberstdorf, was today already pretty different than yesterday... the warm weather started melting the track. Luckily we still have a lot of snow, so skiing probably won't be a problem for a while. But the track feels heavier... Oberstdorf is lower, so probably warmer. It's gonna be interesting to race if the weather keeps going this way ??

Better chances then! ???

I am sure that after such a cold winter they will have lots of snow in reserve.
