Grassmarket 2,757 Posted October 14, 2021 #6803 Share Posted October 14, 2021 Damn, British Justice is just so messed up, a poor person just can’t win. A nurse has unsuccessfully tried to sue the NHS after claiming she was being secretly hypnotised at work - to force her to uncontrollably break wind. Xandra Samson insisted she was suffering from unwelcome ‘gastrointestinal disturbances’ at work including flatulence. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10091897/NHS-nurse-claimed-secretly-hypnotised-make-fart-work.html
Olympian1010 7,477 Posted October 18, 2021 #6804 Share Posted October 18, 2021 This clip from ABC’s coverage of Mexico City 1968 has been making the rounds on social media today. It’s interesting to consider this in the context of the ongoing debate about Rule 50, refugee athletes, and the geopolitical role of the Olympic Games. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair” - Nelson Mandela
Monzanator 3,594 Posted October 18, 2021 #6805 Share Posted October 18, 2021 Nobody cares what happened in 1968 anymore. Today's sport and Olympic Games is all about money anyway. You can't sell me progress and use examples from 53 years ago. Not in an era when TikTok is king Must be a real boring day in the gossip columns if old NBC clips are making news. Grassmarket 2,757 Posted October 19, 2021 #6809 Share Posted October 19, 2021 Dutch club football has declined since the glory days of the 70s, but there is still at least one club out there focussed on regaining international credibility. OK, it’s probably just the standard Dutch 0.33l measure, not the full imperial pint but still…. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10106691/Dutch-football-fan-23-goes-viral-caught-carrying-48-PINTS-beer-one-game.html
