Right, there you go. Pro, used to 10-12 round fights, comes in against an amateur, and isn't explosive enough to 'express' all of her power and skill in such a short fight. I can't even be that surprised :p

While they may be the same sport, Pros and Amateurs might as well be different events. It would be like a 1500m World Champ runner trying to compete in a 100m amateur running event.

Most professionals would struggle badly to keep to their professional weight division for the length of an Olympic tournament

That is what I meant :p

Pros might have, generally speaking, better skills....they might not have the explosiveness to put all of that in the ring in such a short amount of time. Whereas most amateurs would most likely be gassed halfway in a pro bout (with some exceptions, obviously).

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Sebastian Terteryan was so damn close to an upset yesterday. Fingers crossed for his brother and Givskov today. They're not supposed to peak before 2024 but would be some lovely experience for them!

Huh, apparently Fontijn's Greek opponent Kyriaki Aslanidi had withdrawn, so both Fontijn and Lacruz :NED are one win away from the Olympics.

There’s been a few like that in other divisions too

But either way they’re down to the QF stage for the women’s middleweights and they’re all one win away from the Olympics (with them all getting a second chance too)
