phelps 6,795 Posted October 24, 2020 #3831 Share Posted October 24, 2020 it's an endless agony...once again, today in Italy we have 19k+ new positive tests (over 177k tests overall), 79 people going to ICU and 151 deceased people... new and more effective countermeasures are expected to be taken, but as usual the political parties are fighting against each other on which measure has to be enforced first, instead of thinking about people's health... hckošice 13,217 Posted October 24, 2020 Author #3832 Share Posted October 24, 2020 So the Results of today are out. 59.613 people has been tested today during the Pilot (Test) testing in 4 districts of the country with 2.207 Positive cases. So in total with yesterday it is 121.518 inhabitants of the mentioned districts (Population of 180.000) and 4.432 Positive Cases so 3,62 % of its population. Tomorrow is scheduled there the last day of this pilot event, again from 08:00 to 20:00. To explain you, we are speaking still about only 4 districts this weekend! . to have a better idea, you can see them in the north of the map NO - Námestovo DK - Dolný Kubín TS - Tvrdošín and in north-east BJ - Bardejov So just imagine the Mayhem that will happen next weekend, when the whole 79 districts of the country will be tested at once (Bratislava alone with its half milion population) ! This will be something Pics from the evening session Spoiler
hckošice 13,217 Posted October 26, 2020 Author #3833 Share Posted October 26, 2020 Final results of the Pilot (Trial) event. 140.945 People passed the test with 5.594 Positive. so 3,97% of the tested population in the 4 mentioned districts. Apparently 91 % of the population of these districts took part in this trial event (The whole population, deducting children under 10 years old, prisoners, residents of nursing or social services homes, patients and medical staff in hospitals and others is cca 155.000) Now on to the Nationwide Testing mayhem. More details should be known later today. So far we are working with the option of Mass Testing 1st phase during the upcomming weekend from Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st Novemeber (Always from 08:00 to 20:00) in cca 5.000 Testing stations across the whole country (Basically almost all voting stations of the country) with small villages with smaller amount of population being tested only in 1 single day. All in all, that´s going to be an interesting and crazy weekend. Clearly, the biggest logistical operation in the history of the country
hckošice 13,217 Posted October 26, 2020 Author #3834 Share Posted October 26, 2020 Confirmed ! the central crisis staff decided on holding the nationwide testing the following weekend, but, Unlike the original plans, it will take place only 2 days on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1. More details on the testing should be presented tomorrow on October 27 during a special press conference. However, Every sampling site should absorb about 35 people per hour to be able to test in 2 days the all 5.4 million of Slovakia inhabitants Moreover, Slovakia is also in talks with other countries who could provide material or personnel if needed https://spectator.sme.sk/c/22519343/nationwide-testing-confirmed-for-this-weekend.html

dcro 10,179 Posted October 27, 2020 #3836 Share Posted October 27, 2020 Well, Slovakia already proved that the virus is not nearly as widespread as some consider it to be, with only about 4% residents testing positive in the pilot phase. In all likelihood, the nation-wide testing will deliver fairly similar results. #banbestmen

Federer91 2,134 Posted October 27, 2020 #3838 Share Posted October 27, 2020 Things are looking very bleak in the free world. But it is expected when every Bozo's individual ease and freedom is more important for them, than anything else. It's sad to see how, when you give people more and more democracy, many of them lose any kind of common sense. They deserve the China model again, you either do what you are told, or you go to the jungle.. I see it every day here, how the government is delaying any kind of measures, until it's getting firmly in the red zone, because of fear of people's unrest. Numbers have been going up rapidly in the last 2 weeks and just today they made some bigger measures, because the health system is going to go out of rails in the coming weeks, if things continue this way. And now we are waiting for the protesters, of the different measures, because you know, economic reasons, psychological reasons, or pure burden to obey any measure for your average dumbass. But nothing says a global pandemic like big protesting in XX countries. I think i have seen the most protests in different countries (no matter the reason) this year, than in my other 28 years combined.

I don't think so... they just tested a few regions with very few inhabitants, where "social distancing" is naturally easier to be kept under control and urbanization is basically not existing... when it comes to beigger cities with a lot of people living in narrow spaces, working in crowded offices (or studying in crowded schools) and using public transports filled to capacity, that percentage is going to increase dramatically... environmental conditions are one of the keys (if not the main key) for this fuckin' virus to spread alla around and find more people to infect... by the way, here in Italy the situation is getting worse and worse day after day...today we recorded 22k new cases over 175k tests (221 deceased people)... and what's absolutely crazy, it's the general audience's reaction...more and more people don't accept any form of prevention anymore and we're starting to experience street riots in the main cities after the last decisions of our government (with our politicians and scientist who are more interested in fighting against each other and trying to get their opinions to be trusted more than the opponents', instead of taking decisions for the good of the Country under both health and economical point of view )... I'm really going to lose the very small hope in a decent future for my Country I still have...I just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore...
