Tens of thousands of daily cases left and right and still growing incredibly fast, countries even using their armed forces for more or less obligated testing, freedom to do this or that limited all over the world...and then reading this from early January, 'a mystery virus which has affected 59 people in China isn't SARS' :p

Reading late December/early January news items is an interesting experience.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

2020 is just like a dream. I can still clearly remember on the late night of Jan.22nd Chinese authority announced Wuhan will be lockdown from 10am Jan.23rd. My cousin in Wuhan called the taxi at 8am successfully escaping Wuhan driving to the neighbor city and then took a train back to our hometown and then stayed in her own house with parents for almost 3 months not daring leaving or telling anyone.

Yeah, there were many stories like this. No wonder it got entirely out of hand outside of Wuhan as well.

My local cinema had an interesting retrospective last December - "Virus on Film". It included 12 Monkeys and 28 Days Later among others.

Little did we know...

Here we go... From tomorrow entire country will be in "red zone".

According new restrictions (starting tomorrow as well) students from class of 4 to 8 in primary schools will return to online learning, sanatoriums will be closed, restaurnats/pubs/cafes can be open only if they offer take-away sale.

Also +70yo people should stay in home unless they are going to essential shops, doctors or to the church (yeah, because going to church is very necessary and safe thing right now

Childrens under 16yo can leave houses between 8:00 to 16:00 only with parents or adult persons.

Additionaly in couple of big cities public parties of New Year Eve are already cancelled.

today was the big breakout day in Italy...

we went from the usual 10/11k new cases/day of the past couple of weeks to an unbelievable 19k new cases...:yikes:

a full lockdown is still out of order according to our PM, but I don't think he's to be trusted that much...

with such numbers, we're going to be very soon in a strict lockdown, even worse than last March/April, unless they want to see thousends of deceased people a day...:hairpull:

What's the reasoning behind this? If anything, this leads to more people on the streets since teenagers can only leave their parent's property with an adult.

How is the situation in China right now ? It looks like there are more news about that, but I guess the situation there is much better than in Europe right now :p

It is that childrens should be in home within those hours and learn online instead spending time with classmates somewhere eg. in shopping centers or parks becuase it "cause more possible outbreaks of virus among children"
