And I'm guessing it happened. All of a sudden nobody is going sub-50, while Ivanova went 49.6!

Also, Farquharson, who went just before ivanova, is the only other athlete with sub-50 run. ;)

Gleirscher winning the Olympics was fun and all. Pyeongchang was a neutral track, and Gleirscher a total outsider who only got selected at the last moment.

Katnikova sweeping this is just... meh. She is just milking the home advantage beyond belief. That's some vintage Germanesque domination.

Every nation that has a luge track enjoys such an advantage. Maybe the Austrians don't since everyone and their mother trains at Igls.

At least she did beat out Ivanova and Demchenko, who definitely are proven world class sliders.

Let's ask LugeAnnouncer about the refrigeration thing today :p

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!
