Olympian1010 7,470 Posted July 7, 2020 #151 Share Posted July 7, 2020 Never would I dreamed of seeing a NASCAR stand up for equality and defend civil rights publicly just a few years ago. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair” - Nelson Mandela
Monzanator 3,593 Posted July 7, 2020 #152 Share Posted July 7, 2020 Stereotypes about NASCAR will continue to linger regardless of that statement. This series is rooted in the Deep South and the progressives need the proverbial rednecks to stay in their lane so they can be called out as conservative racists after all. heywoodu 13,540 Posted July 12, 2020 #153 Share Posted July 12, 2020 Aaaaand on to NASCAR. Boy what a day! Pretty much non-stop racing action with short moments to recover in between If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! The Iowa double header in IndyCar, any chance that's a middle-of-the-night thing for us Europeans? Monzanator 3,593 Posted July 12, 2020 #157 Share Posted July 12, 2020 4-wide at white flag and Cole Custer wins at Kentucky. He was literally nowhere for 99% of that race. Probably first rookie to win a non-shortened Cup race since Denny Hamlin at Pocono in 2006?
heywoodu 13,540 Posted July 18, 2020 #158 Share Posted July 18, 2020 Chase Elliott followed in the footsteps of his father Million Dollar Bill by winning the All-Star Race and the accompanying one million dollars during the week. Not as interesting as All-Star Races have been in the past this time on Bristol (instead of Charlotte). Monzanator 3,593 Posted August 16, 2020 #159 Share Posted August 16, 2020 Elliott wins at the Daytona Roval. Kaz Grala finishes 7th on his Cup debut. It's funny, #3 was basically retired after Earnhardt's death and only allowed back in because of Childress' grandsons and now Kaz fuckin' Grala is another driver who competed with it. Not bad for someone whose father was born in Slupsk
Monzanator 3,593 Posted October 28, 2020 #160 Share Posted October 28, 2020 It's Wednesday and the Texas race is on rain delay for almost 72 hours now. Meanwhile Kyle Larson is back. He will drive #5 Hendrick car in 2021 & beyond. https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2020/10/28/kyle-larson-signs-with-hendrick-motorsports-drive-5-in-2021/
