hckošice 13,216 Posted January 30, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2020 Apparently Cote d´Ivoire is in europe at least in floorball anyway their results will not be counted. at least they had a nice trip to the Tatras, maybe with first snow in their lifes European qualification for the WCH will be played from today to Sunday in Denmark (Groups A & B) Slovakia (Groups C & D) and Latvia (Groups E & F) Top 3 of each tournament (Winners of both groups in each venue and the winner of the match between 2nd ranked teams) qualify for the WCh. https://floorball.sport/2020/01/28/mens-wfc-qualifications-2020-in-europe-start/ Quote IFF Jury decision regarding team Cote d’Ivoire in the WFCQ 2020 EUR2 The IFF jury of the WFCQ qualification EUR 2 has in cooperation with the IFF competition office taken the decision to void the results of Cote d’Ivoire in the official WFC qualification tournament. Due to the fact that not all players of the team Cote d’Ivoire were granted the Schengen visa to travel and participate in the WFC 2020 qualifications, the size of the team is only six field players and one goalkeeper. The goalkeeper was not a player who was originally included on their first team list and, according to the IFF Competition rules, should not be eligible to play. The jury decision is therefore to let the team Cote d’Ivoire play the games normally, in order to educate and develop the team, but the results will not be part of the official qualification tournament in group C. The IFF jury has agreed this with team Cote d’Ivoire and the other teams in the qualification group C: Belgium, Russia and Switzerland. All four teams have approved the decision of the IFF jury and the IFF competition office. – It is very unfortunate that Cote d’Ivoire did not get a full team to participate in the event. The IFF still finds it very positive for the future of floorball in Africa that team Cote d’Ivoire has been able to come to Slovakia to get the idea of what the WFC qualifications are all about. Cote d’Ivoire has been a striving force in developing floorball especially in Western Africa. The IFF is also in the process of updating its competition regulations and in the updated regulations the minimum size of a team that will be granted the right to participate in an official IFF event, will be 12 players, IFF Secretary General John Liljelund comments. just lost the first match of their qualification tournament today to 0-51 will enter the qualificaton tournament in some 30 minutes against

Olympian1010 7,470 Posted January 31, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2020 There will be no women’s tournament in the 2021 World Games by the way. The IWGA hasn’t seen enough growth yet. I’m also not sure if the men’s tournament is 6 or 8 teams. The IFF hasn’t answered any of the requests for more information (like almost every sport on the program). “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. hckošice 13,216 Posted September 7, 2020 #10 Share Posted September 7, 2020 Officially postponed to 2021 Men’s WFC 2020 to be played in 2021 Due to the present COVID-19 situation and the following reasons related to it, the Finnish Floorball Federation applied to postpone the Men’s World Floorball Championships from 2020 to the year of 2021. The Finnish Floorball Federation has discussed the situation with the Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland. Since there is no knowledge of what the situation with the travel and gathering restrictions will be in December, there is not a favourable circumstance to organise the event in 2020. – The IFF CB decided to postpone the Men’s WFC 2020 based on the application from the Finnish Floorball Federation. The Finnish Federation will investigate the suitable timing for the event in 2021. The final decision of the 2021 competition calendar will be made in the Central Board meeting on the 29th of September, when we have had the time to consider the wishes of all stakeholders, the IFF Secretary General John Liljelund informs. The Men’s World Floorball Championships 2020 were originally scheduled to take place December 4th – 12th 2020 in Helsinki, Finland, with 16 participating teams.
