The variant actually appears to be less dangerous than existing ones, so not sure I understand the decision. Probably hysteria. https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/safrican-doctor-says-patients-with-omicron-variant-have-very-mild-symptoms-2021-11-28/

Lucerne's decision seems to be largely based on travel restrictions and the likes, which is just not in their hands at all.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Honestly, a variant that appears to have possibly come from HIV (?) seems rather dangerous. :p

Right, the criticism is more aimed at the government here. It's a very bad sign for the winter sports season in general.

Haha. It didn't come from HIV but it was able to mutate more because of the lack of immunity in people with HIV.

The "4th wave" (really just omicron) are causing new cancellations left and right on the equestrian circuit. Sadly most indoor events are not really feasible without spectators.

Meanwhile, I am just baffled. Baffled. That some people are still counting "waves" in all this mess.
