and we know more. The Mens U20 Top division world championships will be in fact the only IIHF tournament held until next February.

However the tournament will be hosted only in Edmonton and will be played behind closed doors without spectators and all 10 teams will live in a special bubble !

They will have to change the format (the system will be announced in the next days)

Anyway, the good news is no one will be relegated this time (good news, since this 2001 year is one of our worst ever, and was seriously affraid of "maintaining our status of never relegated country in this category" since last years tournament :d)

  • 2 weeks later...

all sport events (Professional or Amateur) of any level (domestic or international) is banned from 1st October midnight

will affect among others the EURO 2020 play-off SVK - IRL schedulled 8th October, the Košice Peace Marathon (the second oldest annual marathon in the world) 4th October and others

means obviously, also the Ice Hockey Extraliga will not start (1st round was expected the 2nd October) :(

Spoiler

All mass events, except for weddings, christenings and funeral ceremonies, will be cancelled. This includes cultural and sports events, as well as mass, wedding parties and funeral feasts. The exception will be given to those organisers who report the event to the respective regional Public Health Authority office 48 hours prior to the event, and all participants have a negative COVID-19 test no older than 12 hours. we´ll see.

The Dudinská 50 is schedulled for 28th October, so until then the situation may change.

+ there still a possibility an event can be held (but not very likely), but without spectators in very limited participation and everyone must have a valid covid-19 negative test not older than 12 hours before the start of the competition. I guess our athletics federation will do everything possible to let Matej Tóth reach that freaking Tokyo standard even if he´ll be the sole competitor at the start

UIPM cancelled this year's World Championships in Cancun.

Makes sense as Quintana Roo is one of the states with worst prepared during this pandemic. It only shows that their local government has done little but turn the whole Mexican Caribbean Coast into little more than an open air whorehouse for Europeans.

No word on the Amstel Gold Race here yet, but government did announce yesterday that from now on (again) every sports event on every level will be held without spectators. They didn't specifically say it, but we've got football 'fans' to thank for that, unsurprisingly behaving like idiots so they won't be able to go again for a while. I guess that's what they wanted :)

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

After the protest of our Extraliga Ice Hockey players in front of the governement office against the ban of all sports in the country from this midnight, The PM had no other chance but to ease the ban.

Crazy ice hockey country

from tomorrow all sport events will be allowed in the country, But the max of people in the event must be 50, including players, officials !!!...that means all sport events will be in the next weeks without spectators here...

The conflict continue, now the Football federation president is arguing that the next EURO Play-Off match against Ireland must be held with at least 500-250 people in the stadium from players to security staff etc... otherwise we are going to embarass ourselves in front of the whole europe and world...this statement was joined by members from almost all our other sport federations.. also the NOC send a protest list and some requests to the governement, including a requirement to create a national quarantine center (or a special bubble if you want) for our elite athletes in šamorín, in order to continue their training and preparations for the next year major events.

Those people haven't heard of the whole "keep your distance" thing that's the main thing in trying to stop this situation? :d
