ScottishJack 5 Posted January 22, 2020 #31 Share Posted January 22, 2020 Women’s Gb team out now, and I believe now have no chance of qualifying for Tokyo. Men play tomorrow and our last chance of having a table tennis team representing us.

I hope we both qualify for Tokyo I very much doubt that we will qualify. Portugal defeated us at the ECh and since then they got one more Chinese player and we lost Georgina Póta, who was our top player. This sounds silly, but I think we lost our chance to qualify the moment Póta got pregnant. (not saying that it's bad thing, I am happy for her) Edited January 22, 2020 by Vektor

Fly_like_a_don 925 Posted January 23, 2020 #37 Share Posted January 23, 2020 Sweden did an unneccesary gamble by keeping Matilda for Doubles and Singles rather than 2 singles. Ayika ,an anti spin defensive specialist in playing team was always going to be difficult for doubles and Sweden could have won it anyway. If Ekholm was in 2 singles things would be different .Nonetheless a very difficult match against Romania.

JoshMartini007 2,202 Posted January 23, 2020 #39 Share Posted January 23, 2020 Bit of an upset for South Korea though they were unfortunate to face North Korea, likely the strongest team outside of the top 8 seeded teams. They'll be the favourites to get the ninth spot
