Former Olympic champion Mark Tuitert with some very daring quotes in the Dutch TV studio: "The 1000m could be the best competition of the day!"   Wow, shocked.

If the Youth Olympics is the example to go by, every sport is doomed.

That has never been a problem, at all...until ISU started adding bullcrap like the team sprint. Just took a random world single distance championships of the past two decades:   Day 1: Men

And it must be a record participation. Four teams decided to show up for the women's race!

Well yeah, basically nobody gives a fuck about it and that's in a sport where basically nobody gives a fuck about :p

The Dutch men decided not to start, because of the ridiculous scheduling, right after the 1500m. Obviously the solution is simple: get rid of the team sprint bullshit. ISU's more likely solution: let's get rid of the 1500m.

Nah 1500m is around to stay. 1000m would be the one to get replaced. I say that because it’s not in the Youth Olympics...

Or, hear me out here: not scheduling a single distance championship over three days.
