JoshMartini007 2,130 Posted January 5, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2020 Weird that they didn't put the match between the two strongest nations (Cameroon and Kenya) on the final day. In fact, Cameroon doesn't event play on the final day, possibly making it useless should they win all of their matches.
Dunadan 1,103 Posted January 7, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2020 Kenya beat Cameroon 3-2 and they only need a (sure) win against Nigeria to qualify.
dcro 10,172 Posted January 7, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2020 Wow, so if Cameroon has a meltdown in women's football too, then they will have a very long wait for their first athlete... #banbestmen

Even if they lose in football (which in itself would be an upset), their next realistic opportunity to qualify will be a month later in boxing. Regardless, it's a bit surprising that Cameroon hasn't qualified in any sport yet. Senegal too.

dcro 10,172 Posted January 9, 2020 #9 Share Posted January 9, 2020 Kenya return to Olympic volleyball for the first time since 2004. It's good to see some kind of rotation of participants when it comes to African representatives in women's volleyball. #banbestmen
JoshMartini007 2,130 Posted January 9, 2020 #10 Share Posted January 9, 2020 By qualifying its third team Kenya can possibly have its largest team ever. With two rugby sevens teams and women's volleyball that's 36 athletes. In athletics they currently are simulated to have 35 athletes if you only take athletes which have achieved the standard. Looking at last year's World Championships they will likely end up with around 40 athletes. They should also have athletes competing in boxing and swimming too. Their record was 80 athletes at the 2016 Olympics.
