Grassmarket 2,757 Posted February 13, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Seems the only international TV coverage will be FINA’s own pay site http://www.fina.org/event/fina-diving-grand-prix-2020 This is the second-tier Diving competition - established stars compete in the World Series, starting in two weeks. mrv86 2,924 Posted February 14, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted February 14, 2020 Indeed as @Grassmarket said, this is FINA's second tier circuit, open to every federation. However, we may see some good divers, some making a comeback from injury or a short pause in their careers, along those who narrowly missed a spot on the World Series by just a few points. The stage is set for the first event, to be hosted in Madrid from tomorrow until Sunday. Live Results should be accesible in this link, while Startlists & Results will appear on the second one. Among the finals to be contested tomorrow, the American divers in women's 3m springboard should start as favorites, but as per the rules, two of them will not advance to semifinals, so it will be interesting to see who gets and early exit. However, the US squad should also lookout for Ukraine's Olena Fedorova, who should be their main challenge. We could also expect nice performances from the Aussies Sheehan and Koloi (who are very capable competitors, but are part of their country's team in this event, plus Sweden's Emma Gullstrand and Ireland's Clare Cryan, both of whom will be looking to sharpen their executions looking for a ticket for the Olympics at FINA's World Cup in April. Likewise, David Dinsmore should secure the top spot in men's 10m platform. His main rivals will come among Vinko Paradzik (SWE), Maicol Verzotto (ITA), Nikolaos Molvalis (GRE) and the Canadian guys. mrv86 2,924 Posted February 28, 2020 Author #4 Share Posted February 28, 2020 Tomorrow starts the first stage of FINA's Premier diving competition, with the synchro events in both genders. This should be a good thermometer as which divers might have a legitimate shot to defeat the Chinese at the Olympics.
